Admission to the seats in the affiliated institutions of The West Bengal University of Health Sciences in different Post Graduate Homoeopathy Courses shall be made on the basis of the inter se merit lists of different categories/ castes of candidates appearing in the West Bengal Post Graduate Homoeopathy Admission Test Examination (WBPGHAT) to be conducted by the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS).

Two (2) seats in National Institute of Homoeopathy are reserved for BIMSTEC countries. Seats for BIMSTEC countries will be kept reserved. No candidate will be allowed to get admitted from the merit list in the said two seats. In case, no candidates are sponsored by ICCR / Department. The candidates who have completed or will complete their rotating internship for one year after passing the B.H.M.S examination (6 months in case of Graded B.H.M.S. Examination) on or before 31.03.2010 are eligible to apply.

The Print-copy of the application along with a crossed Demand Draft of Rs. 1000/- in favour of ‘The West Bengal University of Health Sciences’ payable at Kolkata , photographs and photocopy of photo identity card (voter identity/ PAN card/Driving license card) are to be submitted either by hand or by Speed/ Registered post to the office of the ‘Controller of Examinations, West Bengal University of Health Sciences, DD-36, Sector-I, Salt Lake, Kolkata- 700064’. Ambarnath – Shanti Ghosh Travel Grant : 2010-2011

The Indian Statistical Institute invites applications for the Ambarnath – Shanti Ghosh Travel Grant : 2010-2011. The conditions for the award and the manner in which the applications are to sent are set out below :

1. The Travel Grant will be given once in two years from the proceeds of the Ambarnath – Shanti Ghosh Endowment Fund.

2. Statisticians and Probabilists, working in India, not above 45 years of age on 31 March 2010, intending to travel abroad (other than SAARC countries) for academic work will be eligible to apply for this grant. Preference will be given to those attending major International Conferences in Statistics/Probability Theory.

3. The travel support will be upto a maximum of Rs.75,000/- for the current award. The parent Institution of an awardee or any agency providing travel support for the same purpose will be officially informed of the grant awarded, so that they can take this into account when considering the award of a complementary grant. The travel money will be given to the awardee only as reimbursement after completing the journey.

4. The applicants intending to travel during 01 April 2010 – 31 March 2011 may furnish travel plan, biodata and recommendation from the departmental head. A proforma of the application form is enclosed herewith, photocopy of which can be used, if needed. Applications should be sent to the address given below so as to reach positively by 31 March 2010.

5. Travel plan accompanied by full text of the paper, letter of invitation, acceptance of paper from the hosts specifying financial support, if any, will be needed to formally award the grant. Copy of air-tickets, proof of payments along with certificate of attendance/participation from the hosts and all the relevant boarding passes will be required for claiming the reimbursement.

6. The selection of an applicant for the travel grant will be made by a Committee constituted by the Director, ISI, Kolkata. An awardee should not have received this award during the previous 6 years. If no suitable applicant is found in a particular year, the deadline for application and the travel period may be deferred by at most one year at the end of which the committee may decide not to award the Grant if there is no suitable applicant even at that stage. The decision of the Committee would be final.
