Admission Notice to the B.Ed. Course (2013-2014) (N.C.T.E. Approved Self Financed B.Ed. Course)

Applications are invited from graduate (preferably with Honours /Master degree) candidates in a (10+2+3) pattern (except deputed category) in prescribed forms obtainable from the University Sales Counter from 8th April, 2013 on payment of Rs.50/- for General and Rs.25/- for SC/ST/PH students for the B.Ed. Course of the academic session 2013-2014. Applicants, both deputed and fresher, must have Bachelor degree / Master degree examination (with at least 50% marks in aggregate in case of candidates belonging to General category, 45% marks for Physically Handicapped & 40% marks for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Categories ) of Calcutta University or other recognized Universities with Home Science as one of the Subject. Two school subjects should be chosen from the following subjects as method papers: 1) Food and Nutrition 2) Home Management 3) English 4) Bengali 5) Education 6) Work Education 7) History 8) Physical Science 9) Life Science. Applications complete in all respect along with self attested copies of certificates and testimonials must be submitted to the Office of the Viharilal Colllege of Education, 20E, Judges Court Road, Alipore , Kolkata -700027 upto 11.00 am on all working days on or before 24th April, 2013.

Age limit: 40 years for Fresher Candidates and 45 years for Deputed candidates as on 30.6.2013.

There is a relaxation of age for maximum of 5(five) years for students belonging to Scheduled Caste, Schedule Tribe and Physically Handicapped categories.

Ph.D. program in Botany Admission 2013 - 2014

Applications are invited for enrolment in Ph.D. program in Botany from Post Graduate students of Botany (or allied disciplines, subject to endorsement by the concerned Ph. D Committee). Maximum up to 45 candidates will be selected on the basis of merit.

The candidates are advised to download the format of the application form from the University website (Admission notification) and submit the filled-in application to the Head, Department of Botany, C. U. after paying Rs.100/ - in cash or demand draft to the cash section of the University within 24th April, 2013. The eligibility of the candidate will be as per UGC rules.

The test will be for 50 marks of one hour duration. There will be 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQ), each of 1 mark. The list of the finally selected candidates would be posted in the Departmental Notice Board.

Those who have qualified in NET/SET/SLET/GATE/Teacher Fellowship or already obtained M.Phil/ degree would be exempted from the examination as per UGC rules. They are to appear for an interview on the scheduled date.

3rd Edition of FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME on “EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING” April 24th – April 28th, 2013

Venue: Punjab Institute of Technology, Rajpura

Objectives: The major focus of the FDP is on upgrading the teaching, training, and research skills of teachers—especially those teachers who have not had an opportunity to acquaint themselves with recent developments in teaching methods. The programme enables participants to develop competence in research and pedagogy. Preference will be given to those teachers who has less than three years of teaching experience.

CERTIFICATION: Participants who complete the programme satisfactorily will be awarded a certificate of participation.

EDUCATIONAL APPROACH: The FDP relies on a variety of learning settings like classrooms, activity based learning and seminars, and a participatory approach to learning.
