Eligibility Criteria


MBA - 2 Years Programme


Eligibility : Admission to MBA will be open to candidate who obtains at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.0 CGPA in a equivalent grade from recognized university.

Qualifying Examination is as under:

BE/B Tech degree in any discipline OR M.Sc. /MA in Mathematics/Statistics/ Computer Science/Electronics/ Physics/Operations Research/Information Science/Information Technology or MCA Admission to MBA programme will be on the basis of Master Merit List (MML).

MBA - 3 Years Programme including 1 Year Bridge Programme

Eligibility : Admission to one year Bridge Programme for MBA programme will be open to a candidate who obtains at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.0 CGPA in equivalent grade in the qualifying examination from a recognized university.

Qualifying Examination is as under :

Recognized Bachelor's Degree in Science of minimum 3 years duration in any discipline with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects.

Admission : Admission to one year Bridge Course for MBA programme will be on the basis of Master Merit List (MML).

Application for admission must be made in the candidate's own handwriting and on the prescribed application form. The form downloaded from the website (www.thapar.edu) or photocopy of the downloaded form must be accompanied by a crossed Demand Draft of 1500/- drawn in favour of Registrar, TU, payable at Patiala -147004.

Important Dates:

1. Last date for receipt of Application forms February 11, 2011
2. Entrance Examination February 27, 2011
3. Display of result of Entrance Test on the Notice Board and web site of the University (www.thapar.edu) March 11 2011 (5.00 PM)
4. GD & interviews of short listed candidates March 25-27, 2011
5. Display of Master Merit List (MML) March 31, 2011
6. Counselling including deposit of fee will be at Thapar University Auditorium. April 15, 2011
