Admission Notice 2009 For Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Planning, Master of Architecture, Master of Planning, Master of Building Engineering and Management and Master of Landscape Architecture

(1) Undergraduate Degree Programmes

Bachelor of Architecture

Bachelor of Planning

Eligibility

Candidates with more than 50 percent marks in aggregate with Mathematics as the subject of examination at 10+2 level are eligible for admission to the first year of the Bachelor’s degree programmes in Architecture and Planning.

Admission Procedure for Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Planning Programmes

Admission to Bachelor’s programmes in Architecture and Planning in the School for the session 2008-2009 will be made through the All Indian Engineering/ Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE-2008) to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), strictly on merit, subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria and reservation of seats as per the approved norms of the School.

Eligibility

Candidates with at least 55 percent marks in aggregate at the qualifying examination (50 percent in respect of SC/ST candidates) for each discipline are eligible as given below.

Master of Architecture Programmes


Architectural Conservation


Bachelor degree in Architecture or Planning of a recognized university or equivalent

Industrial Design


Bachelor degree in Architecture from a recognized university or equivalent

Urban Design

Bachelor degree in Architecture or Planning from a recognized university or equivalent

Master of Planning Programmes


Environmental Planning

Bachelor degree in Planning or Architecture or Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from a recognized university, or equivalent, or Master’s degree in Geography or Economics or Sociology from a recognized university, or equivalent

Housing

Bachelor degree in Planning or Architecture or Municipal Engineering or Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering or Building Engineering from a recognized university, or equivalent, or Master’s degree in Economics or Sociology from a recognized university, or equivalent.

Regional Planning

Bachelor Degree in Planning or Architecture or Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from a recognized university, or equivalent, or Master’s degree in Geography or Economics or Sociology from a recognized university, or equivalent

Transport Planning

Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or Civil Engineering or Architecture or Architectural Engineering from a recognized university, or equivalent, or Master’s degree in Economics or Statistics or Operational Research from a recognized university, or equivalent

Urban Planning

Bachelor degree in Planning or Architecture or Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from a recognized university, or equivalent, or, Master’s degree in Geography or Economics or Sociology from a recognized university, or equivalent

Master of Building Engineering and Management

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or Building Science from a recognized university or equivalent, and also Five Year Diploma in Construction Technology from any recognized University or Institution established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature.

Master of Landscape Architecture

Bachelor degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture or Planning from a recognized university or equivalent, or Master’s degree in planning or equivalent postgraduate diploma of recognized university/ institution or equivalent, or Certificate of completion of Pre-Landscape Architecture Course of the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi

Note:-

• A.I.I.A. (By examination) has been treated as equivalent to B. Arch.
• An academic programme will be conducted only when three or more students register for a particular discipline

(3) Doctoral Programmes

Eligibility

Applicants for admission to Ph.D. programmes shall possess the following qualifications.

Master's Degree in Urban Planning or Regional Planning or Environmental Planning or Housing or Transport Planning or Landscape Architecture or Urban Design or Architectural Conservation or Building Engineering and Management or Industrial Design conducted by the School, or equivalent from any other recognized university or institution with a minimum of 55 percent aggregate marks;

or

Bachelor's Degree in Planning or Architecture of the School or its equivalent from any other recognized university or institution with a minimum of 55 percent aggregate marks and five years experience in teaching, research or professional practice.

Relaxation in the aggregate marks specified above may be made in case of exceptionally qualified applicants.

How To Apply:

Application form along with the Prospectus and Information Bulletin will be issued as per press notification published by the SPA in the newspapers. Prospectus and Information Bulletin can be obtained from the bankers of the School i.e. UCO Bank Branches from Delhi: IIPA (I.P.Estate, Ring Road), Defence Colony (Near Mool Chand Flyover), Cannaught Place (Near Marina Hotel), Karol Bagh (Arya Samaj Road), Som Vihar (R.K.Puram), Punjabi Bagh (Ring Road), Banglore, Pune, Nagpur, Kolkata and Mumbai against payment of the Application Fee of Rs.750 (Rupees seven hundred fifty only) in cash during banking hours.

Requests for application form by post must be accompanied by a crossed demand draft of Rs.750 (Rupees seven hundred fifty only) on any nationalized bank and drawn in favor of SCHOOL OF PLANING AND ARCHITECTURE payable at NEW DELHI. All such requests are to be addressed to the Registrar of the School. Payment by cheque is not acceptable.

Candidates, who have appeared in the prescribed qualifying examinations and whose results have not yet been declared, may also apply.

Submission

All applicants together with letters of recommendations, Portfolio and payment should reach SPA not later than 30th April, 2009. Online applications will close after 24th April, 2009.
