FMGE Information Bulletin March 2013

The Applicant must meet/fulfill the following criteria :

a) He / She is a citizen of India or Overseas Citizen of India.

b) The candidate should possess any primary medical qualification, which is confirmed by the Indian Embassy concerned, to be a recognized qualification for enrolment as medical practitioner in the country in which the institution awarding the said qualification is situated.

c) The candidate should have studied for the medical course at the same institute located abroad for the entire duration of the course from where he/she has obtained the degree.

d) He / She had obtained 'Eligibility Certificate’ from the Medical Council of India (applicable only in respect to students who took admission abroad on or after 15.03.2002). This requirement shall not be necessary in respect of Indian citizens or overseas citizens of India who have obtained admission in foreign medical institute before 15th March 2002.

e) All students who have taken admission abroad prior to 15.03.2002 and are required to qualify the Screening Test for their registration, shall be allowed to appear in the Screening Test even if they do not meet the minimum admission norms of MCI for joining undergraduate medical course, subjected to the compliance of the Judgment(s) of the Hon’ble Supreme Court/Competent Courts in this regard including but not limited to judgment dated 8th March 2002 in Civil Appeal No. 2779 of 2000 & other judgments.

f) From 15.03.2002 and onwards all students are required to obtain an Eligibility Certificate from MCI before proceeding abroad for studies in Medicine.

g) Applicants/Candidates may also refer to Screening Test Regulations and Regulations on Graduate Medical Education, Eligibility Certificate Regulations issued by Medical Council of India. The same may be referred to at or obtained from Secretary, Medical Council of India, Sector 8 Pocket 14, Dwarka, New Delhi. Telephone: 25367033, 25367035 Fax: 25367024.

h) Cut-off date for obtaining the Primary Medical Qualification shall be before the conduct of exam i.e. before 31st March, 2013. It is mandatory to provide proof/documentary evidence in support of the candidate having passed final examination for such a primary medical qualification/posses the primary medical qualification on or before the cut-off date. In the event of the date of issue of result/proof of primary medical qualification being after the prescribed cut off date, the application forms shall be rejected and candidate declared as ineligible.

Notice regarding postponed date of Ph.D entrance examination, January 2013 session

The entrance examination for Ph.D program of the Institute for January 2013 which was scheduled to be held on 07.12.2012 has been postponed and will now be held on 15.01.2013. This is for information of all concerned.

Admission Process

This page summarizes the approach of DSB-VIPS TC in preparing the admission list for its first Batch (2013-15). The batch size is 120. DSB - VIPS TC reserves the right to modify any part of this document including the various criteria and cut offs mentioned at any time till the actual admission process for the batch is completed.

The admission process consists of:


Short listing Candidates for Personal Appearance (PA) process

Conducting the PA process. PA process is composed of Written Analysis (WA) and Personal Interview (PI), and

Preparing the admission list based on Test score, PI & WA score and Profile score as indicated in following tables.

The Admission Committee will decide the number of candidates to be called for PA process on the basis of short listed merit list prepared.

Submitting your application

To apply to DSB-VIPS TC an applicant must complete the online 'Application Form'. The Online Application is Free

DSB - VIPS TC will be accepting CAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT scores. The applicant is required to fill the IDs of all the test score he/she wishes to submit.

The candidate must print the Registration slip from the website after the completion of the application form. This will be your temporary ID for all further interactions with DSB. Once you are admitted you will receive your final Enrolment No.
