The Department Of Biotechnology Government Of India Announces The Call For Proposals Under  “ Biotechnology Career Advancement And Re-Orientation Programme For Women Scientists’’

In an attempt to enhance the participation of Women Scientists in Biotechnology Research, the Department of Biotechnology announces the Call for Proposals under the Bio-CARe scheme for women scientists.  The programme is targeted towards Career Development of employed /unemployed women scientists.  The scheme is open for all areas of Life Science / biology (including agriculture, veterinary science and medicine).  Age limit for application has been kept as 55 to ensure maximum impact.

The programme aims at providing support for project grants to women scientists (employed & unemployed) for whom it is the first extramural research grant (Women Scientists who have received any earlier grant from any Government Funding Agency as PI are not eligible).  The purpose is to build capacities for women scientists after a career break so as to help them undertake independent R&D projects.

Distance Learning Programme Batch 67-Commencing from July, 2012

ISTD diploma in Training and Development is a distance learning programme of 18 months duration. The medium of course is English only. A student of this programme is entitled to suffix 'Dip TD' on successful completion of all the Eight Theory Papers & the Internship. Today many of the Dip TD holders are occupying senior positions in various work organizations.

Eligibility Graduate of recognized university or its equivalent and have a minimum of two years experience in the capacity of an Executive, Faculty, Administrator, Supervisor, Manager, Trainer or HR Practitioner in an organization.


Post-Graduate Degree or equivalent Diploma in Business Management, Personnel Management or any other recognized discipline.


A Professionally recognised qualification like BE, ME, MBBS, CAIIB, ACA, AICWA,     M Ed etc. inclusive of degree level education.


Armed Forces Officers who have successfully undergone course at NDA /IMA / OTA/ Air Force Academy / Indian Naval Academy and have a minimum of two years working experience.

Registration and Course Fees  A non-refundable/ transferable Registration Fee of Rs.500/- by cash or Demand Draft  payable to "ISTD, Diploma Programme", New Delhi.

Full Course Fees of Rs.25,000/- in one lump sum or can be paid in two equal installments of Rs.12,700/- each by cash or Demand Draft. Payable to "ISTD Diploma Programme", New Delhi Concessional Course Fee for Armed Forces officials, including retired, and SC/ST candidates: A concession of Rs.5000/- in the course fee is allowed provided proper certificate testifying the above is furnished with the application for enrolment; the concessional full course fees of Rs.20,000/- (can be paid in two equal installments of  Rs.10,200/- each) by cash or Demand Draft payable to "ISTD Diploma Programme", New Delhi. Attested copies of Degree/ Diploma, work experience in fulfillment of eligibility criteria (attestation by Gazetted officer, above, are acceptable).

Eligibility Criteria

FMGE-Screening Test-September-2012

The FMGE-Screening Test has been introduced by the Screening Test Regulations 2002. As per the regulations, “An Indian citizen possessing a primary medical qualification awarded by any medical institution outside India who is desirous of getting provisional or permanent registration with the Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council on or after 15.03.2002 shall have to qualify a screening test conducted by the prescribed authority for that purpose as per the provisions of section 13 of the Act.”
