Summer Research Fellowship Programme

IIT Delhi has instituted a prestigious summer research fellowship programme for providing an opportunity to exceptionally good undergraduate students of different engineering institutes in India, other than IIT Delhi (and if possible, abroad) for Top ten of the classes to execute an innovative research and development project under the guidance of an IIT Delhi faculty. The fellow will register at IIT Delhi as a casual student; she/he will not be required to pay institute registration fees.

Duration The Fellowship work can be done in a period of 8-12 weeks which can be availed of during at most two visits

Eligibility Any undergraduate student, who has completed at least 2 years of study towards an engineering degree, is amongst top ten positions in her/his respective programme will be eligible to apply for this fellowship. Students who will be completing this requirement by May 2011 are also eligible.

Deadline Applications will be received until 17:00 hours on 28th February, 2011.

Decision List of Fellows will be announced by 31st March, 2011.

Start Summer work can start after 09th May 2011. Institute vacation periods are available on the website.

Admission notification: M.Sc in Bioinformatics and Biotechnology

IGNOU, in collaboration with the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB), announces admission to the M.Sc programme in Bioinformatics and Biotechnology.

The regular, face-to-face programme will be held at the IBAB campus in Bengaluru. Students with a Bachelor’s degree in any branch of science or technology are eligible to apply.

IBAB is a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in research and training in bioinformatics - Department of Information Technology, Government of India.

The programme aims at providing competence in both biotechnology and computational biology/bioinformatics by providing training in the areas of cell and molecular biology, computer science, statistics, bioinformatics, etc.

Application forms are available for students till April 14, 2011 at IBAB campus.

Selection will be done on the basis of an online test, to be held from May 2-6, followed by a personal interview at Bengaluru from June 6-10. Classes will commence from July 29.
