Quiz PU for Students
With a view to facilitate an all pervasive growth and development of the students, Panjab University has planned some multifarious activities. “Quiz_PU” is one such initiative that has been planned to sensitize the students of Panjab University on the latest developments in the Indian and Global contexts. Eventually the goal is to enrich the students with `General Knowledge & General Studies’ component.
On the experimental basis, the first Quiz is planned for October 14, 2011.
As it was on October 14, 1882 that the `Punjab University’ was formally established, the scope of the “Quiz_PU”, besides `Current Affairs’, shall also include “Glorious Past & Vibrant Present of PU”
The inclusion of `Glorious Past & Vibrant Present of PU’ in the scope of the Quiz, shall not only create awareness about the rich heritage of our esteemed university but also offer an opportunity to have a recap on its glorious past and envision its growth. It may also give an opportunity to some of the alumni to share their reminiscences also.
Scheme/Format
The Quiz shall be open to the students enrolled with various Departments/Institutes of the Panjab University.
Prizes
The Winning Team will get a Cash Prize of Rs. 3000/ and the Runners-up will get Rs.2000/, while the team finishing at the Third position will get a Prize of Rs.1000.
Those who wish to participate in the Quiz should submit the dully filled-in “Form for October 14’ Quiz-PU” along with the photocopy of their PU Identity Card by October 5, 2011 to DSW Office.
It shall be a `two-stage event’.
In the first stage each Team (comprising two members) shall take a written test on October 14, 2011 at 10.00am. The result of the Stage –I shall be declared at 4 pm on the same day.
On the basis of `combined score’ of the members of the team, top four teams shall be selected for the second stage. The second stage (final), a stage show, will start at 5.00 pm (Venue will be announced later)
