An objective type (MCQ) Combined Pre-Medical Entrance Test (HP-CPMET-2010) for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in Govt. Medical/Dental Colleges including Private unaided Dental Colleges( State/Management Quota Seats)in Himachal Pradesh for the academic session 2010-11 will be held on May 27, 2010(Thursday) at Shimla, Mandi, Dharamshala and Hamirpur Examination Centres for which the applications on the prescribed form from the eligible candidates are invited as available in the prospectus.

Last date for receipt of application forms complete in all respects either by hand or by Registered/Speed-Post in the office of the Deputy Registrar(Entrance Tests), H.P. University, Shimla-5, is 30.4.2010 upto 5.00 P.M. whereafter no application shall be accepted. The NRI candidates shall send their applications complete in all respects direct to the Principal(s) of the concerned college(s) latest by 31.5.2010.

Educational Qualifications:
The candidate should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examinations of a University/Board by law in India with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects which shall include a practical test with 50% marks (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC) provided that the candidate has qualified the subject of English as an elective subject in the above examination

The requests for supply of the prospectus by post can only be addressed to the Deputy Registrar(Entrance Tests), H.P.University, Summer Hill, Shimla-171 005, accompanied by crossed IPOs/Bank Draft amounting to Rs.1200/- in case of General & other categories, Rs.700/- for SC/ST categories only and US Dollars 50 or equivalent in Rupees for NRIs, drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, H.P.University, Shimla. No request for sending the said prospectus by post will be entertained after 20.4.2010. While applying for supply of prospectus by post, the candidate must write the “HP-CPMET-2010 Prospectus is required” and also mention his/her complete mailing address in capital letters along with telephone number.

UGC-NET will be held on June 27, 2010

UGC-NET for Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for lectureship will be held on June 27, 2010. Now this time applying procedure is changed. The following procedure opted for applying UGC-NET:

1. First register online at before 26th April 2010 and the last date for the submission of printout of the Online Application Form, Attendance Slip and Admission Card on April 30, 2010.

2. Before applying Online, the candidates must possess the following:

a. Scanned passport (pp) size photograph in JPEG format, b. Copy of Bank Challan (fee receipt).

3. Candidate after successfully filling the online application is required to take print out of the Online Application Form, Attendance Slip and Admission Card on separate A-4 size papers and paste his/her recent passport sized photograph, put his/her signature at the required space, attach attested copy of SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/PH/VH certificate and send the same with UGC marked copy of Bank Challan to the Coordinator of the UGC Test Centre from where the candidate has opted to appear for the Test. In case, the printout of Online Application Form along with the required documents does not reach the Test Cente on or before 30.04.2010, the candidature of the applicant shall be rejected even if he/she has submitted to UGC.

4. The printout of the Online Application Form, Attendance Slip and Admission Card should be submitted to Prof. Nahar Singh, Coordinator, UGC-NET, Dept. of Punjabi, Panjab University, Chandigarh-160 014. The office will remain open from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on all working days.

5. The candidates must go through the guidelines as laid down by UGC for eligibility and filling the application forms.

Admit Cards for All India Engineering Entrance Examination 2010

The Ninth All India Engineering Entrance Examination 2010 for admissions to B.E./B.Tech. and B.Arch./B. Planning in various national level institutes like NITs, IIITs, Deemed Universities, Government funded institutions, DTU and State Institutes of Haryana and Uttarakhand will be held on 25th April 2010 all over India and abroad. The admission cards for appearing in the Examination have been dispatched and it is expected that all candidates will receive their admission cards latest by 7th April 2010. In case any candidate does not receive his/her admit card, he/she may contact CBSE immediately to get duplicate admit card. A list of all the candidates and their examination centre has been displayed on Board’s website and . The candidates may also check their particulars after punching their application form number or registration number of AIEEE 2010. In few of the cases, the medium of question paper has been mentioned as Hindi in lieu of English or has been left blank. It is for information of all such candidates that wherever the medium of question paper has been mentioned as Hindi or left blank, the question paper will be bilingual i.e. Hindi and English; and therefore, such candidates who have inadvertently mentioned the medium of question as Hindi in place of English should not worry.
