IGNOU launches Diploma in Watershed Management


Keeping in mind the need to develop human resource in watershed development and management, IGNOU has launched a one-year Diploma Programme in Watershed Management. The programme will commence from January 1, 2011.

The objectives of the programme are to introduce the principals of the watershed management approach and the value of working in watershed; mobilisation and capacity building of rural youth, landless and women; and to develop skills for small scale irrigation and water supply structures for soil and water conservation strategies.

Eligibility
for the programme is 10+2 or Bachelors Preparatory Programme from IGNOU. There is no restriction on age. The fee for the programme is Rs 9,000 for General candidates and Rs 4,500 for candidates from rural areas or urban BPL (Below Poverty Line) candidates.

The medium of instruction for the programme is Hindi and English. Regional languages will be added at a later stage.

The Application forms and Prospectus can be obtained from the IGNOU Head Office, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068 and all Regional Centres of IGNOU, or downloaded from www.ignou.ac.in. The last date for submission of applications with late fee is November 30.
