The Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT), Bhubaneswar, is a National Institute under the aegis of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi, engaged in research and developmental work on the utilization of natural resources with emphasis in the area of mineral processing and development of materials. The Institute invites applications from young and meritorious Indian nationals who are creative, have passion and desire to pursue R&D in frontier areas. Tenure - Maximum for 5 years.

Qualification
- B.E. / B.Tech. in Mineral / Metallurgical / Ceramic / Environmental / Mechanical / Chemical Engineering with valid GATE scorecard. M.Tech. / M.E. candidates are not eligible for this Fellowship. The selected
candidates will have to pursue Ph.D.

Age
: Maximum 28 years (relaxable up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC / ST / Women / OBC & PWD as per rules).

Stipend : Rs.12,000/- per month for an initial period of two years. May be upgraded as SRF-GATE after completion of 2 years on the basis of performance with Rs.14,000/- stipend per month. In addition, contingency grant of Rs.20,000/- per annum is also available to each fellowship as per CSIR guidelines.

Mode of selection : Selection will be based on candidates’ academic record and interview who fulfills all the eligibility criteria as per the above prescribed qualification/valid GATE score/maximum age etc. The applications as received up to 31st March, 2010 / 30th June, 2010 / 30th September, 2010 will be scrutinized separately and they will be called for interview on different dates depending upon the number of candidates available. A candidate considered for one phase of selection will not be considered for remaining phase(s).

The cut off date for determining maximum age / qualification, etc., will be the last date of receipt of applications, i.e., 1st phase – 31st March, 2010; 2nd phase – 30th June, 2010 and 3rd phase – 30th September, 2010.
