A post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) Programme in Engineering and Science disciplines with absorption in a R & D Unit of DAE

For a challenging career in pursuit of front ranking R&D programmes in Atomic Energy

Research Associates selected under the prestigious KSKRA programme are given an opportunity to work on R&D programmes of national importance relevant to the mandate of the Department in one of the following advanced research centres of DAE:

1. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai.
2. Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam.
3. Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT), Indore.
4. Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC), Kolkata.
5. Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB), Mumbai.

Up to 20 KSKRAs can be selected every year and paid a stipend of Rs.20,000/- (likely to be revised) + benefits for a maximum period of 2 years. Anytime during the 2nd year of associateship, subject to satisfactory performance, the KSKRAs will be absorbed in one of the above R&D units of DAE and appointed in the grade of Scientific Officer/ Engineer-D/ E. The associateships are available in the following branches of engineering: Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Metallurgical and Structural as well as in the following science disciplines: Physical, Chemical, Materials, Environmental, Radiation, Electronics, Medical, Agricultural and Life Sciences. The application should be submitted in one of the following broad Subjects and marked with the corresponding Subject Code:

Minimum Educational Qualification and Experience:

i) For Engineers: Ph.D. degree in Engineering (Those who have submitted thesis for Ph.D. may also apply) or Master's degree in Engineering (M.Tech./ M.E./ M.S.) with a minimum of 2-year R&D experience after obtaining M.Tech./M.E../ M.S. degree.

ii) For Scientists: Ph.D. degree in Science (Those who have submitted Ph.D. thesis may also apply).

All candidates must have a First Class at either Masters or Bachelors level.

All candidates must provide a list of publications in support of their R&D experience.

Indian nationals who are not more than 32 years as on 1st January in the year of the application. The age criterion is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. The SC/ ST/ OBC certificate should be as per the prescribed format.

DelTech planning to increase 230 seats at the UG and 72 seats at the PG level from 2010-11 academic session

Intake in B.Tech. & M.Tech. courses to increase

Delhi Technological University (DTU), formerly Delhi College of Engineering, is all set to increase its intake at both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) level from the upcoming 2010-11 academic session. The University is planning to add 230 seats in its B.Tech. courses and 72 seats in its M.Tech. programmes. The recommendation to this affect was made at the First meeting of the Academic Council held on Friday, which was chaired by the Vice Chancellor of DTU, Prof. P.B. Sharma.

The intake in the B.Tech. courses will be increased by adding seats in the existing courses. In the B.Tech. course in Biotechnology intake is likely to be increased from 20 to 60 (40 seats added), similarly in Polymer Science and Chemical Technology it has been planned to increase from 40 to 60 (20 more seats added), in Environmental Engineering it is likely to increase from 30 to 60 (30 more seats), in Electrical Engineering, it is likely to be revised from 90 to 120 (30 more seats), in Civil Engineering it may be increased from 70 to 120 (50 more seats), Computer Engineering is likely to witness an increase in intake from 90 to 120 (30 more seats), and Production & Industrial Engineering may see an enhancement of 30 to 60 (30 more seats). At present, there are 14 academic programmes on offer with an intake of 910 seats at the UG level. From this year, DTU will be admitting students for both Delhi and Outside Delhi category on the basis of the rank obtained in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) conducted by the CBSE.

Four new M.Tech. programmes are also likely to be added from the new academic session in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Geo-technology, Signal Processing and Digital Design, with an intake of 18 each. This makes a total of 72 more seats at the PG level from the currently available 306 seats. DTU currently offers 17 M.E./M.Tech. courses.
