In Pursuance of a Memorandum of collaboration signed between the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and the Gandhi Smriti & Darshan Samiti (GS&DS), New Delhi, an International Centre for Gandhian Studies and Research (IGNOU-ICGSR) has been established by IGNOU at the Gandhi Darshan Complex, Rajghat, New Delhi. The main objectives of this Centre are to design, develop and deliver educational programmes leading to Certificate, Diploma, Degree, Post Graduate Degree and Ph.D. degrees in Gandhian Studies for the Higher Education System. The Centre will also promote both theoretical and applied research in Gandhian Studies, Peace, Conflict Management, Social Regeneration, Basic Education principled on Gandhian thought and Vocational Education.

Research and Teaching Assistantship (RTA): Applications are invited for RTAs to pursue full-time research (Ph.D.) under an approved guide and undertake teaching responsibilities.

Consistently top academic records from School to P.G. Level with minimum 55% marks or an equivalent grade B+ in a seven point scale in Master’s degree (50 per cent marks or an equivalent grade in case of SC/ST/PH category). The applicant should have Social Science background with keen interest on Gandhian Studies, Peace, Conflict Management, Social Regeneration, and Gandhian Thoughts on Social, Political, Economic, Peace Studies and Sustainable Development.

Age Limit: The age limit will be 25 years as on 1st July of the year of Award, relaxable by 5 years for women candidates and SC/ST/PH.

Fellowship: The fellowship amount is Rs.14,000/- per month to begin with for the first three years and Rs.16,000/- for the next two years. The fellowship is likely to be enhanced further.

The University invites applications for admission to Master of Business Administration (Banking & Finance)-January 2009 Cycle.The Prospectus which is already on sale, can be obtained from any of the Regional Centres listed below or Registrar (SR&E), Maidan Garhi, New Delhi - 110 068, on payment of Rs.500/- in cash or Rs.550/- through Demand Draft for sending by post. Candidate should be a member of Indian Institute of Bankers, should have passed the CAIIB examination and should be a Graduate working in the Banking or Financial Services Sector for at least two years. The last date for submission of the application form for MBA(B&F) at Regional Centre is 30-11-2008. Application for admission to the Ph.D Programme may be submitted on the prescribed form at any time during the year.
