Some of the seats in various PU Teaching Departments and its Regional Centres (at Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana & Muktsar) are lying vacant for the session 2008-2009. The interested candidates may submit their application forms for admission in the concerned department(s)/Centres [except B.D.S., B.E., B.Sc.(Hons. School), B.Pharmacy, Five years B.A.LL.B(Hons.) Integrated Course] by 14.8.2008.
There are Entrance tests for Admission to courses at Sr. Nos. (i) to (v) conducted by the University in June, 2008).
i) M.C.A.: Dept. of Computer Science& Applications, (Evening), Regional Centre, Muktsar, Swami Sarvanand Giri, P.U.R.C., Hoshiarpur
Note: Candidates desirous of seeking admission to MCA should apply to the Chairperson, Joint Admission Committee, University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Panjab University, Chandigarh.
ii) M.Tech : Instrumentation, LL.B. (Morning) + (Evening), Swami Sarvanand Giri, P.U. Regional Centre (Hoshiarpur ), P.U. Regional Centre, Ludhiana, PURC, Muktsar
Note: The candidate seeking admission for LL.B. 3-years degree Course at the P.U. Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana & Muktsar should apply to the Director of the Centre on application form.
iii) M.B.A.(Executive) , M.Com. (E-commerce).
iv) M.A.: English
v)M.Sc. (Hons. School) : Computer Science & Applications, Mathematics.
The following Courses at Sr. Nos. vi) to vii) will have an Aptitude/ Admission Test conducted by the department concerned :
vi)M.E.:(Chemical), Master’s Courses : Gandhian and Peace Studies, Fine Arts, Indian Theatre, Music (Instrumental), Sanskrit, and Disaster Management (in the Deptt. of Geography).
vii)University Institue of Fashion Tech. & Vocational Development: Five years Integrated B.Sc. & M.Sc. in Fashion & Lifestyle Tech. There will be no Aptitude / Admission Test in the following courses:
viii) B.A. (Hons. School) followed by M.A. (Hons. School) in Economics (Five years Integrated Course)
ix) M.Lib.&Information Science (Two year Integrated Course)
x) Centre for Emerging Areas in Sc. and Tech.: M.Sc. ( 2 Year Course): Medical Physics, System Biology and Bioinformatics, Masters Course in Public Health.
xi) M.Sc. (Hons. School): Anthropology .
xii) Master’s Courses : Microbial Biotechnology, Statistics, Stem-cell & Tissue Engg. (UIET), Solid Waste Management , Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology, Defence and National Security Studies, Education, Economics, French, Geography, Hindi, History, Panjabi, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology , Public Administration, Sociology , Urdu, Women’s Studies , Community Education & Development (Adult & Cont. Candidates desirous of applying for admission to University teaching departments / Centres for the session 2008-2009 can download admission form from P.U.Website www.puchd.ac.in free of cost and also to get information regarding Departments having vacant seats. However, those finally admitted, will be charged Rs. 30/-as cost of admission form along with admission fees.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The interview for the Reserved Category Students would be held on 18.8.2008 in the respective Deptts. and all unfilled (Reserved Category) seats will stand converted to General Category on 19.8.2008 by 5.00 p.m.
Note: Wherein admissions are based on OCET, the candidates must fulfill the requisite requirements.
