2nd IIMA Doctoral Colloquium 2009
The IIMA Doctoral Colloquium is an event initiated in 2008 by the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) students of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad
The main objectives of the event are to
(a) initiate networking amidst management researchers
(b) share knowledge and learn from each other
(c) explore emerging areas of research in management
Who should attend?
All students who are currently enrolled in any full time doctoral / PhD. program in any discipline of management is eligible to participate in this event.
As the event will give the participants an opportunity to discuss their research work with their peer research students and also get feedback about their research from eminent faculty we believe this will be more helpful for students who are least in the proposal stage of their thesis work.
Short listing for participation in the event will be based on merit of the abstract (of his/her thesis proposal) submitted by the participant.
We are also planning to allow selected students ( students enrolled in any full time doctoral / PhD. program in any discipline of management but have not reached their proposal stage) to participate in the event based on a statement of purpose to attend the meet. Details of same will be announced later.
Call for Abstracts
Abstracts will be encouraged for active participation in the conference. The dates for submission of the abstracts have already been announced.
The participants for the event will be shortlisted based on abstracts of their research proposal up to a maximum of 1500 words (Excluding the title page and reference). The abstracts must include a clear indication of the purpose of research, methodology, major results, implications, and key references. The abstracts should be formatted as mentioned below.
Margins: 2.5 cm. or 1 inch
Font: Times New Roman, 12 point
Spacing: 1.5
Title page: Title, author(s), affiliation(s), contact details
Abstracts will be blind reviewed and only those abstracts approved by the reviewers will be selected. Soft copy of the abstract in Microsoft Word for Windows should reach Institute latest by September 30, 2008.
Registration
A registration fee for participation will be charged after the entries are shortlisted. The fee charged will be INR 2,200 for Indian participants and USD 150 for foreign nationals.
The dates for final registration will be announced after the shortlisting of participants is done.
The abstracts should be mailed to iimdc@iimahd.ernet.in
