NTPC SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SCHEDULED CASTE/SCHEDULED TRIBE DIPLOMA ENGINEERING STUDENTS
NTPC –a premier public sector enterprise in power sector offers exclusive scholarships for SC/ST students pursuing full time diploma in Engineering in a recognized institute.
ELGIBILITY
(1) Students should have successfully cleared their first year examination of full time diploma in engg.course in the disciplines of Electrical /Electronic/Instrumentation /Mechanical /Civil and be relatively meritorious among the SC/ST candidates.
(2) Should not be in receipts of any financial aid or assistance from any other source whatsoever.
TENURE
(1) The scholarship is tenable from second year of diploma engg.course till complection of the diploma course.
(2) The scholarship is payable for all the 12 months in a year
SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT
(1) The amount of scholarship will be limited to Rs.1000/-per month.
(2) The continuance of scholarship once awarded is subject to satisfactory performance in each year annual examination and good conduct.
NO.OF SCHOLARSHIPS
(1) No of scholarship will be such as decided by NTPC.
EMPLOYMENT IN NTPC
(1) Subject to availability of vacancies the candidate in receipts of NTPC Scholarship will have to appear for NTPC selection test and /or interview for the post of Diploma Trainee, candidate will be required to undergo one year training during which period they will be paid stipend as per rules and on successful completion of training they will be appointed in the appropriate supervisory cadre. Candidate will he required to serve the Corporation for a minimum period of 3 years from the date of appointment in the supervisory cadre. Failure to appear for the NTPC selection test and /or interview and if selected to join as Trainee and thereafter serve NTPC for a period of 3 years will entail the candidate to refund the entire scholarship amount as well as training cost incurred on him.
HOW TO APPLY
Candidate fulfilling above requirements and willing to be considered for NTPC scholarship may submit his duly signed and typed application alongwith recent attested photography and furnishing full particulars like Name, Father’s Name ,Address for Communication ,Date of Birth ,Category-SC/ST,Qualification indicating interalia Name of Course, Institution ,Branch of study year of passing, Percentage of Marks secured in Matriculation pre-entrance qualifying examination and first year of Engg.Diploma Course alongwith copies of mark sheets and caste certificate and on undertaking that he fulfills the eligibility conditions as laid down and is not in receipt of any financial aid or assistance from any other source and further that the information furnished by his is true and correct and if found false/incorrect, it will disqualify her/him from NTPC Scholarship and employment apart from refund of the amount. The envelop super scribed ‘NTPC’SCHOLARSHIP FOR SC/ST ‘ should be forwarded to Liaison officer (SC/ST) A8A,R&D Building ,NCR-HQ Sec-24 ,Noida-201301,Application should be duly forwarded by Head of the institution in which candidate is pursuing Engg.Diploma.Each Institution can forward maximum of two applications.
