KBAT - Karnataka Biotechnology Aptitude Test 2013 - 2014

KBITS (Karnataka Biotechnology and Information Technology), Department of IT, BT and S&T (Science & Technology), Government of Karnataka, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India and ABLE (Association of Biotech Led Enterprise) has initiated BTFS (Biotechnology Finishing School) program to educate and empower human resource required for the biotechnology sector.The process of admission to BTFS involves an online test KBAT (Karnataka Biotechnology Aptitude Test) followed by interviews of high merit students in Bangalore.

The online test is open to eligible students across the country from any cyber center or with good home-based facility of internet.The online exam KBAT will be conducted by KBITS on 6th & 7th of August 2013. Students interested in admission to BTFS program must register to take up KBAT online exam on or before 31st of July 2013.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have a minimum of 50% in Masters degree from Universities of the state or any other University recognized as equivalent in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics or any other life science related courses; B.E./ B.Tech. – Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Bachelor of Pharmacy, Agriculture, Veterinary, MBBS and BDS are also eligible to apply.

Candidates who have appeared for the M.Sc / B.E. final exams can also apply. Upon selection, a provisional degree certificate should be submitted to the respective colleges within two weeks of course commencement.

Fee Structure

Fees for the 12 months' program shall not exceed Rs.50,000/- per student.
A sum of Rs. 10,000 (non-refundable) to be paid for confirming the allotted seat and Rs. 40,000 to be paid directly to the BTFS host institution.
