Applications are invited from graduate candidates for admission to the following courses:
01. Certificate and Diploma* Courses (2013-14) in Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Korean(only certificate),Pali, Persian, Russian, Spanish, Tamil, Tibetan and Urdu Languages.
02. Pre. M.A.** Course (2013-14) in Russian Language.
*Candidates who have obtained one year certificate in a language from C.U. or an equivalent certificate from other Institutes are eligible to apply for ‘Diploma Course’ in that language.
**Graduation and a two year Diploma in Russian is the eligibility for Pre. M.A. Candidates are to qualify an entrance test for admission to Pre.M.A. course.
The classes for Certificate and Diploma courses will commence on 10.7.13 and 26.07.13 respectively. Class schedule will be announced in due course.The date of entrance test for admission to Pre.M.A and the date of commencement of the course will be announced later.A list of selected candidates will be published on 21.06.13. Unlisted candidates may contact the office of the dept. The students who apply from other universities(Marked as OU in the selection list)must apply for Calcutta university registration within a month from the date of admission and submit the relevant papers at the dept.office. The last date of admission is 8.07.13. The students who will take the certificate examination (2013), C.U. may attend the provisional Diploma classes from 26.07.13.Notification regarding their admission will be issued after publication of the result.
Any other details regarding eligibility and others will be available from the office of the Dept. of Languages, Ashutosh Bldg.,(2nd Floor). The application form for admission will be available from the University Sales Counter from 11 A.M.to 3 P.M. on all working days on Payment of Rs. 50/- (Cost of application form Rs. 15/- plus a brochure Rs. 35/- per copy). The last date for submission (2 P.M. to 6 P.M.) of application at the office of the Deptt. is 14/06/2013.
