6 (Six) vacancies exist in the Department for admission to Ph.D considering the strength and availability of faculty members. General reservation policy of the Central/State Government will be followed.

The Research Eligibility Test (RET) for Ph.D. programme in Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science will be held on 27th February, 2013 at 2 p.m.

The last date for submission of application form :26th February, 2013.

The RET will be of 50 marks. The question pattern will be of multiple choice type or short answer type. The Duration of the entrance test will be one hour.

An interview will be held on 28th February, 2013 at 2 p.m. for RET qualified (Qualification bench mark – 40% of the total marks ) as well as NET/GATE/ SLET qualified candidates. A seminar of 10 minutes duration is to be given on work plan for each candidate.

Successful candidates will be eligible to register for their Ph.D in Department of Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science.

Eligibility : The Ph.D. entrance test of 50 marks for the eligible candidates will be held twice (depending on the availability of candidate) in a year and the qualifying marks will be fixed at 40%. Candidates with at least 50% Marks obtained in M.Sc. (Ag.) in Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science ( or allied disciplines subject to endorsement by the concerned Ph.D. Committee) from any UGC recognized University are eligible to appear in the Examination. Those who have qualified in NET/GATE/SLET or already obtained M.Phil degree would be exempted from the RET examination. They may directly submit a statement of purpose or research in brief and appear in the interview.
