Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) – 2013 For LLB & LLM

Eligibility for Under-Graduate Courses

To be eligible to appear in CLAT-2013, a candidate should have obtained a Senior Secondary School/Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent certificate from a recognised Board with not less than 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC and ST candidates) and should be below 20 years of age as on 1st July 2013 (22 years in case of SC and ST candidates).* Candidates who are appearing or have appeared in the 10+2 examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear in the test. However, such candidates are required to have passed the qualifying examination at the time of their admission and must be able to submit proofs in support of their claims. * Subject to State reservation at the University concerned.

Eligibility for Post-Graduate Courses

To be eligible for appearing in CLAT-2013, a candidate should have obtained a LL. B/B. L. Degree or an equivalent degree from a recognized University with not less than 55% marks in aggregate (50% in case of SC and ST candidates).* The candidates who have passed the qualifying degree examination through supplementary/ compartment and repeat attempts are also eligible for appearing in the test and taking admission provided that such candidates will have to produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with fifty-five/fifty percent marks, as the case may be, on the date of their admission or within the time allowed by the respective universities.

Mode of obtaining Application Form and Information Brochure for CLAT-2013

Printed OMR Application Forms along with the CLAT-2013 Information Brochure will be made available at the designated branches (refer-www.clat.ac.in) of the State Bank of India (SBI) and in all the participating NLUs mentioned above against payment of Rs.3000/- only (Rs.2500/- in case of SC/ST candidates on submission of proof) excluding the bank charges. For purcahasing Application Form from the designated branches of SBI, fees can be paid through a ‘Challan’ by furnishing the required information about the candidate as specified in the 'Challan' form. For purchasing Application Form from the participating NLUs, the candidates can make payment either through ‘Cash’ or ‘Demand Draft’ drawn in favour of the Registrars of the concerned NLUs to be payable at the respective cities of their location.

Application Form and CLAT-2013 Information Brochure can also be procured through registered/speed post by sending a requisition letter (with Father’s Name, Contact Numbers, detail Mailing Address and PIN Code) to the Convener, CLAT-2013, Hidayatullah National Law University, Post – Uparwara, Abhanpur, New Raipur – 493661 (Chhattisgarh) along with a Demand Draft of Rs.3100/- (Rs.2600/- in case of SC/ST candidates) drawn in favour of “Registrar, HNLU – CLAT 2013 A/C” to be payable at Raipur (Chhattisgarh). Rs. 3100.00/Rs. 2600.00 includes an additional amount of Rs.100.00 being charged for sending the Application Form and Information Brochure through Speed/Registered Post.

Candidates can also apply online by visiting and following the instructions given in the CLAT-2013 website (www.clat.ac.in). The online payment for applying for CLAT-2013 can be made through net-banking, debit card, credit card, etc. In case of online application, the candidates will have to bear the additional transaction costs for remitting the fees online through payment gateways.

Applications are invited for admission to Department of Physics, University of Calcutta (92 Acharyya Prafulla Chandra Road, Kolkata 700009) for Ph.D. Course and subsequent research work leading to Ph.D degree in Physics. Candidates who wish to pursue research work through this Department should apply in the prescribed proforma (can be downloaded from the departmental webpage at www.physics-caluniv.in/admissions.html) by paying Rs. 100/- through a challan obtainable from College Street Campus (Sales Counter).

The filled-in application form, along with the challan, should be submitted to the Office, Department of Physics, definitely by April 01, 2013. The eligible candidates will have to appear in a written MCQ-type examination of 1 hour duration to be held in this Department on April 05, 2013 at 12-00 hr. The syllabus of this examination is the Physics M.Sc. syllabus of this University excluding Elective and Advanced Papers. The successful candidates will be called for an interview on April 8 and April 9, 2013. The final selection for joining this Department as a Ph.D. student will be on the basis of this interview.

The number of Ph.D. students that will be taken this time is at the most 17 (seventeen), if found suitable, including reservations (SC- 4, ST-1, PH-1, GEN-10) as per existing rules. The allocation of supervisor will also be on the basis of this interview (see CU website for the areas on which research is carried on here).

Bhatnagar. UICET shall now be known as “Dr S.S. Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology”. On the occasion, Mr Arun Bhatnagar, IAS (Retd.), his grandson, was the Guest of Honour. The Chief Guest, Prof. M.M. Sharma, F.R.S., enlightened the audience with his talk on “Exciting and Rewarding World of Chemical Engineering”.

Mr. Arun Bhatnagar in his address went down the memory lane and relived the moments he spent with his late grandfather. Prof. Arun K. Grover, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University, focussed on his public stature, and thereby informing the students and present dignitaries of the glorious history of the department, transcending its foundation in 1958.

Thereafter, TATVA, the annual technical magazine of the institute, was released and all guests appreciated the efforts of Teacher Incharge Prof. Neeta Sharma, Editor-in-Chief Sayyantana Dutta, and all other students. The Chief Guest, the Guest of Honor and his wife Mrs Kalpana Bhatnagar were felicitated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Arun K. Grover, Institute Chairperson, Prof. R.K. Chhabra, IIChE President Prof. V.K. Rattan and Prof. S.K. Sharma, Professor Emeritus. Professor S.K. Sharma proposed the vote of thanks.

Supported by Ford Foundation India & led by “Livelihoods MANTHAN Consortium”, TISS has initiated a “Rural Livelihood Interns (Young India: Build India) program for mentoring and facilitating the process of creating a cadre of committed, talented and high quality Livelihood professionals from management and social science institutions ready to be deployed as capacity building catalysts in the intervention districts of National Rural Livelihood Mission, (NRLM) a flagship program of Ministry of Rural Development (GoI). The scheme is anchored at the Centre for Public Policy, Habitat & Human Development at School of Development Studies, TISS(Mumbai)

Objectives of Livelihood Interns

1. Provide capacity building and programming support for effective implementation of National Rural Livelihood Mission, a flagship program of Ministry of Rural Development (GoI) in various states through designing livelihood-based perspective plans and mapping of livelihood opportunities in the relevant areas of intervention.

2. Establish or strengthen management and human resource systems through exploring alternative ways of enhancing existing livelihood options of the poor, build skills for the job market and nurture self-employment especially among BPL households and tribal communities.

3. Trigger processes of social mobilization and financial services which would facilitate building institutions of pro- poor-SHGs, their federations, Livelihood Collectives and Micro-enterprises- for successful implementation of NRLM

For Government Officials


a. Officers at middle/senior level working with the Central or State Governments, Public Enterprises and autonomous organizations belonging to State / Central Government.

OR

Similar participants from foreign countries.

OR

NIFM trainee officers of Central Finance and Accounts Services.

b. All participants must have completed Graduation or a degree equivalent thereto from an Indian /foreign university (institution) recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

c. Minimum percentage of marks at graduation level must be minimum 50%

d. The upper age limit for all participants is 50 years or less on the last date of submission of the application form for program.

For Private Corporate Executives


a. All participants must have completed Graduation or a degree equivalent thereto from an Indian/ foreign university (institution) recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

b. Minimum percentage of marks at graduation level should be minimum 50%

c. Aspiring participants must have a percentile score of 85 per cent or above in the CAT or any other test(s) approved by the AICTE

d. The work experience of minimum 03 years at a managerial position in a corporate entity.

e. The upper age limit for all participants is 50 years or less on the date of commencement of the program.

Admission Notice 2013 - 2014 Master of Arts (Diplomacy, Law & Business) M.A. (DLB)

Admission Procedure: Applicants to the M.A. (DLB) at JSIA must hold a Bachelors degree (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B.E., B.Tech., B.B.A., LL.B., M.B.B.S., etc.) from any recognised university. This course is open to students from all disciplines: there are no pre-requisites in terms of the courses undertaken at the Bachelors level. There is no maximum age for applicants to the M.A. (DLB) programme. All applicants need to fill the M.A. (DLB) admissions form and pay an application fee. Both can be done through the JSIA website at www.jsia.edu.in/admissions Following this, entrance examinations will be held on a rolling basis starting in February 2013. The entrance exam is conducted online and tests students’ ability for critical and analytical thinking, and general knowledge of international affairs. Early applicants will receive priority in receving scholarships.

The candidates are required to send the printout of the system generated application form, payment receipt (` 750/- for SC/ST/PD candidates only and ` 1,500/- for all other categories of candidates), photocopies of all certificates and mark sheets to the office of the Deputy Registrar (Exam & Academic), Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad-826004, Jharkhand on or before 08th April, 2013. ISM offers admission in M. Tech. to the aspirants both with and without valid GATE score and in M. Phil programmes to the aspirants who are either NET qualified or NET not-qualified. The candidates, who have sufficiently high and valid GATE score, may apply for admission in M. Tech. as a GATE qualified candidate, will henceforth be called GATE Candidates. While, candidates who do not have valid GATE score or who are NET not-qualified have to appear and qualify through an All India Entrance Examination conducted by ISM. These candidates will henceforth be called ISM-EE Candidates.

Candidates having valid GATE score but due to not having sufficiently high GATE score, may apply as ISM A candidate may apply both as GATE Candidate and ISM application forms and by paying application fee for each of the application forms. In one application form, any candidate may apply either as GATE Candidate or as ISM Candidate.

The application form for M.Tech / M. Phil has to be submitted online, which is available on the ISM website www.ismdhanbad.ac.in/admissions from 14th Feb., 2013.

The application fee for both M. Tech and M. Phil programmes is Rs. 1500/- for GN/OBC candidates and Rs.750/- for SC/ST/PD candidates.

The application fee is to be paid through online bank challan of SBI.

Application fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

The other printed copy of the application form must reach to Dy. Registrar (Exam & Acad), Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad-826004 latest by 5th April 2013. The envelope containing the application form and other necessary documents should be superscribed with “Application for the Admission in M.Tech/M.Phil-2013”.

Eligibility Criteria to appear for NIMCET-2013

Indian Nationals securing@ at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale in case of SC, ST) in BSc / BSc (Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum three years full-time

OR

BE / B Tech or equivalent from a recognized University are eligible to appear for NIMCET-2013.

Candidates who are appearing for final year/semester of BSc / BSc(Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum 3 years or BE/BTech in the academic year 2012-13 are also eligible to apply for NIMCET-2013. Such candidates shall have to furnish the proof (in the form of a certificate issued by the head of institution where the candidate has studied) that he/she is appearing for the examinations during the academic year 2012-13 and can submit the proof of fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NIMCET-2013 preferably at the time of Counseling/Admission but not later than 15th September, 2013, failing which their admission is liable to be cancelled by the respective NITs. NIMCET-2013 will not reserve a seat to a candidate due to any reason claimed for not fulfilling the eligibility criteria including the delay in publishing the results by the concerned University/institute.

OR

Students who have completed/completing degree BSc / BSc(Hons)/BCA/ BIT of 3 years from Open Universities are also eligible to apply provided their programme is approved by UGC / AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.

The festival will be inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Arun Kumar Grover, on 15.02.2013 at 10:00 a.m. The inauguration ceremony will be presided over by Prof. R. K. Kohli, DUI. Students of Ankur School and G.S.V.M Sr. Sec School, Ratwara Sahib will perform Classical Dance during the inauguration ceremony. Ganesh Vandana will be performed by Sh. Rahul Gupta, a renowed Classical Dancer. There will be various attractions for children in the Festival like fun games, swings, camel rides etc. To spread awareness among the masses, pavilions will be set up by Traffic Police and Blood Bank Society.

The SSB Prizes are to be given for research contributions made primarily in India during the past five years. The age of the nominee for the 2013 SSB Prize should not be more than 45 years as on 31.12.2012.

Eligibility B.E/B.Tech. in any branch of Engineering/ Technology with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.

OR

Ist class Master’s Degree in any branch of Physical/ Chemical/ Mathematical Science like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Application, Electronic Science, Environmental Science, Operation Research, Computation/ Information Science or Master’s Degree in Commerce/ Economics.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM Each year, a group of 20-24 emerging leaders from different regions of the world are selected to become Ford Fellows of 92nd Street Y. The program includes a three-week residency in New York City and ongoing communication before and after the residency via telephone and email. Fellows are expected to complete reading, writing and group assignments prior to their residency to maximize the value of their fellowship experience and after their residency to evaluate its impact and success.

ELIGIBILITY Applicants must be 21 years of age or older, with several years of leadership experience. We seek candidates from a variety of backgrounds with the aim of creating a group of Fellows who will work well together and offer a diversity of views and experiences. Candidates should be emerging leaders addressing issues whose resolution can have a significant positive impact on their communities, on their countries, and—collectively—on the world. Applicants must demonstrate fluency in English, have valid passports, and have regular access to a computer and the Internet. They may not be current recipients of other fellowships.

APPLICATION DEADLINE Applications must be postmarked or emailed by June 30, 2013.

IIIT-H is looking for students who aim to transform industry and society by developing new applications/systems by doing cutting-edge research. We focus on research in the core areas of Information Technology and its application in other areas.

IIIT-H is inviting applications for the academic year 2013-14 from the candidates who have completed (or going to complete by July 2013) B.Tech./B.E./B.Arch. etc., in any branch of Engineering, BSc in Physics, Chemistry or Biology with good Mathematics background, or M.Tech./M.E./MCA/M.Sc./M.A. for admission into Postgraduate and Research programs in the areas of Computer Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computational Linguistics, Computer Aided Structural Engineering, Bioinformatics, Computational Natural Sciences (Dual-Degree & MSc), IT in Building Sciences, Spatial Informatics (Remote Sensing and GIS) and Humanities.

Admission into M.Tech., M.S by Research & PhD programs is very flexible at IIIT Hyderabad. A student with an Engineering or Science degree in any field/area can seek admission into any other field/area for higher studies. For instance, a candidate who has completed B.Tech. in Electronics/Electrical/Civil Engineering can apply for M.Tech./M.S./Ph.D in Computer Science, VLSI & Computer Engineering and Bioinformatics.
