PGIMER Graded Second Best in India
PGIMER has been graded as the second best hospital amongst the top 10 multi-speciality hospitals in India and also amongst the Best Govt. Multi-speciality Hospitals in India by The Week-HANSA Research national survey 2012 published in The Week. The cover story of the latest issue (December 16, 2012) of the weekly magazine THE WEEK is about the BEST HOSPITALS IN INDIA. The specialities of Paediatrics, Neurology, Diabetology, Gastroenterology, Cardiology and Oncology in PGIMER have been rated as third, fourth, fourth, fifth, seventh and tenth respectively.
Other multi-speciality hospitals amongst the top 10 are: AIIMS, New Delhi (first), CMC Vellore (third), Apollo Hospitals Greams Lane, Chennai, (fourth), Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai (fifth), Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, Mumbai (sixth), Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Mumbai (seventh), Bombay Hospital, Mumbai (eighth), Manipal Hospital, Bengaluru (ninth) and Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow (tenth).
The poll was conducted across 16 cities. A primary survey was conducted among 917 experts, 328 general physicians, 442 specialists and 147 pathologists/radiologists. The parameters used for rankings were overall reputation of the hospital, competency of doctors, availability of multiple specialities, patient care, hospital environment and innovation in treatment.
