J.N. Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship Programme 2013-2014

The J.N. Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship Programme 2013-2014

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the J. N. TATA ENDOWMENT LOAN SCHOLARSHIPS for the academic year 2013–2014, for higher studies abroad in all disciplines and subjects.

Eligibility:

Applicants who are:

I) Indian nationals; and
II) (a) graduates of a recognised Indian university with a consistently good academic record; or
(b) students in the final year of the degree course; or
(c) mid-career professionals upto the age of 45, planning to go abroad for further research, specialisation or training.

At the time of submitting the completed applications, candidates need not have the admission / award letters from the universities to which they have applied, for the academic year 2013-2014.

Prescribed application forms will be available at the Administrative Office of the Endowment at Mulla House, 4th Floor, 51 M.G. Road, Fort, Mumbai 400 001 from December 3, 2012 to February 22, 2013.

The application fee of Rs.100/- is to be paid in cash or by Money Order or a Demand Draft drawn in favour of “The J. N. Tata Endowment” mentioning the applicant’s full name and address to enable the Endowment to post the form.

Completed application forms should reach the office of the Endowment not later than March 4, 2013.

The Selection Process

After the initial screening of applications, candidates will be shortlisted for an interview in person by subject experts. The final selection will be made on the basis of the interview which will be held in Mumbai between March and June 2013.

Introduction


This Scheme is instituted by the Trust to recognize and reward young Indian scientists, below the age of 40 years, with outstanding track record in biological sciences, a deep commitment to find innovative solutions to major problems related to human diseases and potential for high quality research. Applicants must have a regular position in a University / Organization / Institute in India and should be engaged in research and development and have publications arising from research done as an independent investigator in India.

The amount of Award will be Rs.25,000/- per month plus a contingency grant of Rs.5 lakhs per annum, in addition to the regular salary drawn from the host Institute.

Online Application and Registration

From the academic year 2012-2013, all applications will only be accepted online. Every applicant must register himself / herself before applying online. After the applicant completes the registration form, an email notification will be sent to him/her with the e-mail body containing a link for the activation of account. Please note that the registration process will be completed only after the user clicks on the link in the e-mail.

Award Schedule

The Trust Secretary will open the dates for the current academic year to invite applications. Applicants will be allowed to apply during this period only. The applicant is supposed to select the fellowship / scholarship carefully, as in an academic year, he/she will be able to apply for only one category. National Eligibility Cum Entrance MDS 2013 (NEET MDS) Courses in Dental Colleges


Applications are invited in the prescribed form through online mode only for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test MDS - 2013 (NEET-MDS-2013) to be conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences on Sunday, the 13th January, 2013 for admission in various Postgraduate (MDS) courses in Dental Colleges in the country.

Eligibility Criteria:(1) Only Indian nationals possessing BDS degree from a recognized Dental College or a foreign degree included in the schedules of the Indian Dental Council Act, 1956 and full registration either from the Dental Council of India or State Dental Council after completing the compulsory rotating internship and should complete the required period of 12 months preregistration internship from a recognized Hospital on or before 31st March, 2013.

Rules and General Guidelines of Admission


1. Minimum 55% aggregate marks in qualifying examination (B.Tech./B.Pharm) and 50 % in case of SC and ST candidates.

2. The Admission for sponsored category is only for the employees who have put in TWO years of experience by 31-10-2012, working in Industry / Educational or research establishments and should be sponsored by respective employers. (However if seats in any case fall vacant or not being filled on conditions of experience for any reason, the experience may be relaxed as decided by the Admission committee)

3. The Candidates have to produce the sponsorship letter and No-Objection Certificate in the prescribed PROFORMA from the employer at the time of counseling.

4. The candidates have to bring all Original Certificates for the counseling.

Advertisement for NEE – 2013 shall come out shortly in one North east daily of each NE state and one national daily. Application for entrance examination is to be submitted through online mode only . NEE – 2013 application will be available in www.neeonline.ac.in throughout the day on 24 x 7 basis from 15.01.2013. Offline forms for NEE – 2013 will not be sold.

The Entrance Examination shall be conducted for admission at three levels viz.,

1. NEE – I for Base Module (Certificate Course) (for Class X passed candidates)

2. (a) NEE –II for Diploma in Engg. & Technology (Technology stream) (for 10+2 candidates with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM))

(b) NEE- II for B.Sc. Degree in Forestry (Forestry stream) (for 10+2 candidates with Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB))
