Admission by Entrance Test Selection will be based on performance in an entrance test and in the qualifying examination (UG) upto V Semester / II year. The Entrance Test will be conducted in the university campus only. Further details are available in the prospectus & in the website.

Direct Admission Spot Admission will be made on submission of application on first come first served basis.

How to apply

Application forms and prospectus can be had from the Registrar in person or by post from 10.04.2012 on requisition with a cost of Rs.300/- (Rs.150/- in the case of SC/ST Candidates, on production of attested photocopy of community certificate) in the form of a Demand Draft dated no earlier than 05.04.20112 drawn in favour of the "Registrar, Bharathiar University payable at Coimbatore" and self addressed stamped envelope to the value of Rs.60/-. Please note that cash payment will NOT BE ACCEPTED. The cost of application once paid will not be refunded.

Candidates can also apply online (or) download the application form from the website and submit the filled-in application with required fee of Rs.300/- (for others) and Rs.150/- (for SC/ST Candidates).

How to Apply

Download the Bank Challan Form (SBI/ICICI) from our website to deposit the application fee for Rs.2,000/- (Rs.1,200/- for SC/ST) in favour of “Birla Institute of Technology” in a SBI / ICICI bank and enter the Challan number and other required details of the payment as issued by the bank within the given time period.

The last date for apply online for MCA Programme 2012 has been extended up to 17th April 2012 and last date for receipt of printouts of duly completed online forms up to 20th April 2012, owing to several requests from the candidates.

Application Forms for all the courses will be available from the University Sales Counter at Rajbati, Burdwan from 09.04.2012 to 27.04.2012 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. only on working days (except Saturdays, Sundays and other University Holidays) on production of original/attested xerox copies of the mark-sheet of the relevant basic degrees stipulated above as minimum eligibility. Price of Form – Rs.100/- only.

2 Year M.Sc. Course in Applications of Mathematics

Eligibility Students who have obtained, or expect to obtain in 2012, a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics, or degrees such as B.Sc. Physics, B.Sc. Statistics, B.E. or B.Tech. with a strong background in Mathematics, are eligible to apply for the programme.

Ph.D in Mathematics

Eligibility Students with an M.Sc. degree in Mathematics or equivalent and students with a bachelors degree in Engineering or Science with a strong aptitude for research

Ph.D in Computer Science

Eligibility Students with a B.E., B.Tech., M.Sc. or M.C.A. degree and students with a bachelors degree in Science with a strong aptitude for research

Ph.D in Physics

Eligibility Students with an M.Sc. degree in Physics and students with a bachelors degree in Physics or Engineering with a strong aptitude for research.

Admission is through an Entrance examination to be conducted at centres throughout the country on Friday, May 25, 2012. Students with exceptionally good performance in National Science Olympiads may be exempted from writing the entrance examination at the discretion of the Admissions Committee. Eligibility criteria The student seeking admission to this course should be a registered nurse (R.N. & R.M/GNM) or equivalent. Nurses from other countries must obtain an equivalence certificate from INC before admission and be physically fit.

Duration of the course is 1 year.

Students will be given a stipend of Rs.1000/- for a maximum period of 12 months.
