PCTE (Punjab College of Technical Education) was first institute established by Punjab Management Education Trust in 1999. It was a response to certain fundamental changes taking place in the Indian education system then. Technical education took a new dimension in the India’s emerging fields. India’s banking system, insurance, telecom sector and capital markets had seen an overhauling change in the fabric, and it was evident that a predictable large gap existed between the requirement in the market and the available skilled professionals available in the country.
