Shri B. Lakshminarayana Memorial Award

Indian Agricultural Research Institute has initiated ‘Shri B. Lakshminarayana Memorial Award’ which carries a cash prize of Rs 10,000/- and a commendation certificate. The award is presented biennially to an outstanding scientist for his/her highly notable original research contributions, fundamental or applied, in the field of Soil Science, Agricultural Chemistry and Agricultural Physics.

Applications/nominations for the biennium 2010-11 are invited from the research workers up to the age of 40 years working in the Research Institutions/ State Agricultural Universities in India for their fundamental or applied research including inventions, discoveries etc. leading to results of practical value in the field of Soil Science, Agricultural Chemistry and Agricultural Physics. A copy of general guidelines, governing the award, and application proforma are enclosed, and the same is also available at our website www.iari.res.in

It is requested that wide publicity may please be given to the circular at your
University/Institute/Department/Division. Applications/Nominations, if any, complete in all respects be forwarded so as to reach the undersigned latest by 17-10-2011. Applications received without proper nomination from the Institute/ University employing the candidate will not be entertained. Applications received after due date shall not be considered. The Institute shall not be responsible for any postal delay.

Dr. Ambedkar Social Science Research Fellowships
(for Scheduled Castes candidates intending to do M.Phil./Ph.D. in India)

As a first initiative after signing a MoU with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute takes pride in instituting five “Dr. Ambedkar Social Science Research Fellowships” to encourage Scheduled Caste (SC) students from social science or humanities discipline to pursue his/her M.Phil/Ph.D. degree on any issue that Dr. Ambedkar dealt with during his life time. These fellowships include three “Dr. Ambedkar National Social Science Research Fellowships” open to SC candidates from any part of India and two “Dr. Ambedkar Social Science Research Fellowships at TISS” open only to SC candidates from Maharashtra who have already secured admission for M.Phil/Ph.D. at TISS. The candidate qualified for any of these fellowships will receive a monthly allowance of Rs.13000/- and an annual contingency grant of Rs. 10,000/- for the first two years to complete his/her M.Phil. degree, and Rs. 15000/- and Rs. 20000/- respectively for first three years to complete his/her Ph.D. degree. The fellowships would come into effect from the academic year 2011-2012 onwards.

With a copy of caste certificate, the application form may also be obtained free of cost directly from the office of the undersigned. The completed application should reach the above office on or before 16th August 2011. Those unable to send the hard copy of the application within the due date, may send a soft copy of the same as advance copy with scanned copies of necessary documents within the due date to the Director General's email ID: directorbarti@gmail.com, and in such case the hard copy of the application should reach the said office by 18th August 2011. Application received after the due date will not be entertained.
