The 1st Annual Convocation of Guru Nanak Dev University, Regional Campus Gurdaspur will be held on Saturday, May 07, 2011 at 10:30 am in Guru Nanak Dev University Regional Campus, Gurdaspur. Prof. (Dr. ) Rajinderjeet Kaur Pawar, Dean, Academic Affairs, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar will preside over the function, to award degrees to candidates who have passed M.C.A(TYC), M.C.A(FYIC), M.B.A, B.Tech (CSE), B.Tech (ECE), LL.B., B.A. Law examinations from University Campus, Gurdaspur since ever its inception.

The REHEARSAL will be held on May 06, 2011 at 10:00 am in Guru Nanak Dev University Regional Campus, Gurdaspur and is compulsory for all candidates.

Intending recipients of the degree (those who have already received their degrees), are advised to submit their degrees before one week of the date of convocation with their concerned department.

Recipients of all the degrees, shall wear the academic costume prescribed by the University and no candidate shall be admitted into the convocation without academic costume.

JNMF Scholarships 2011

The scholarships are available to the following categories of students:

A) Indian Nationals for Ph.D. study in India; and
B) Nationals of other Asian countries for Ph.D. study in India.

1. Hold a First Class Post-graduate degree with a minimum 60% marks in aggregate.

2. already be registered/admitted for Ph.D. degree with a recognized University/Institution in India. Those who have applied for registration and have not yet been registered at the time of submission of application, are not eligible to apply.

3. not be above 35 years of age at the time of applying.

4. be a full-time Ph.D. Scholar.

5. have valid GATE /NET score.

Completed application form together with all the necessary enclosures should reach Administrative Secretary, Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund, Teen Murti House, New Delhi-110 011 on or before 31 May. The candidates are advised to send their applications as soon as possible. The Fund will not be responsible for any postal delays in reaching the application by the due date.

IMU invites application from eligible candidates for the common entrance test – August 2011 to be conducted on 19th Jun 2011 from 1000 hrs. to 1300 hrs. for the one year DNS course leading to B.Sc. Nautical Science Programme at IMU campuses and its affiliated institutes.

Educational Qualification:

1. Pass in 10+2 examination from a recognized Board / University with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), with not less than 55% aggregate marks in PCM.

OR

B.Sc. in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or Electronics with Physics as individual subject in one of the year, with an average of not less than 50% of marks in the final year of B.Sc., from a recognized University provided that the candidate must have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognised Board.

OR

B.E./B. Tech. or it’s equivalent degree from I.I.T. or from a college recognized by AICTE/UGC. AND

2. Should have passed with not less than 50% marks in English as a separate subject, at either 10th or 12th standard or in the Degree programme conducted by a recognized Board/ University.

Academic Standards:

1. The application form along with the information brochure and admission procedure can be availed at selected branches of Indian Bank by paying Rs. 800/- (Rs. 450/- for SC/ST Candidates).

2. Download the application form, Information Brochure & Payment Challan through online at www.imu.tn.nic.in , fee viz. Rs. 800/- (Rs. 450/- for SC/ST Candidates) can be paid through Challan payable at any of the SBI/Indian Bank branches all over India.

3. Through Post by sending a demand draft valued Rs. 800/- (Rs. 450/- for SC/ST Candidates) in favor of “Indian Maritime University” payable at Chennai to the university.
