Applications are invited in the prescribed form through online mode for All India Post Graduate Medical/Dental Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE-2012) to be conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences on Sunday, the 08th January, 2012 for admission under 50% seats quota in various Postgraduate (MD/MS/ Diploma & MDS) courses in Medical and Dental colleges in the country run by the Union of India, State Governments (except Government of Andhra Pradesh and J&K) and Municipal or other local authorities.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:


(1) Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply

(2) The candidate must posses MBBS/BDS degree from a recognized Medical/Dental College or a foreign degree included in the schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and full registration either from the Medical/Dental Council of India or State Medical/Dental Council after completing the compulsory rotating internship.

(3) Candidates who have obtained MBBS/BDS from Medical/Dental colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible to apply. However, candidates who were nominated by the Government of India (Ministry of Health & Family Welfare/D.G.H.S., New Delhi) to do MBBS/BDS from Medical/Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are eligible to apply subject to submission of requisite documents specified in the Prospectus.

(4) The candidates should complete the required period of 12 months pre-registration internship from a recognized Hospital on or before 31st March, 2012.

The prospectus is available on the website www.aiimsexams.org and must be read by the applicants before applying. The cost of online Application-cum-Examination fee is Rs.1000/- (Rs.800/- in case of SC/ST candidates).

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

A candidate can submit application only On-Line through Internet. Visit www.aiimsexams.org read the prospectus and other details carefully and follow the instructions given therein. The candidate can pay the application fee through a challan form (down loaded from internet while applying on-line) in any branch of State Bank of India. Eligibility Criteria for appearing the Entrance Test:

Candidate seeking admission to postgraduate Medicine/Dentistry course should hold MBBS /BDS degree of recognized University by MCI/DCI.

A candidate who has completed one year compulsory rotating internship or is likely to complete the same on or before 30 April, 2012 can appear for PIMS-AICET-PG 2012 .

All such candidates will have to submit the documentary proof, from the Principal / Dean of the college regarding the likely date of completion of internship along with the manual application form, failing which the application shall be rejected.

A candidate should have obtained permanent registration with MCI/DCI (as the case may be) or any state council. If candidate does not have such registration , he should obtain the same within one month from the date of his/her admission.

Candidates who are previously registered and pursuing/completed the PG degree course or have obtained PG degree, are not eligible for appearing at PIMS-AICET-PG 2012.

Candidates previously admitted to PG degree course and resigned/left the seat are not eligible for appearing at PIMS-AICET-PG 2012 .

Candidates who have completed Medicine postgraduate diploma course or would be completing by 31.03.2012 will be eligible for PIMS-AICET-PG 2012 for admission to Medicine postgraduate degree in the same subject only.

Eligibility Criteria:


(i) A candidate, who holds MBBS degree or an equivalent qualification and who has obtained permanent registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or any of the State Medical Council(s) after completing compulsory rotating internship shall be eligible to take this examination.

(ii) However, a candidate who after passing the final qualifying examination (MBBS or equivalent examination), is undergoing 12 month compulsory rotating internship and is likely to complete the same by 31st March, 2012 can take up this examination. The candidate must produce a certificate from the head of institution that he/she will be completing internship by 31st March, 2012. But he/she will not be eligible for admission unless he/she has completed the compulsory rotating internship on or before 31st March, 2012. They have to obtain permanent MCI registration before joining the course.

Master’s degree from the University of Delhi or any other recognized University in MBE/ MBA/ Economics/ Environmental studies/ Commerce with minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grading or M.Phil with minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grading. The student intake in the PhD programme will be determined by para 3 of revised ordinance VI-B, University of Delhi.

The extent of reservation and the eligibility criteria with respect to the reserved categories of students to be admitted to the doctoral programme will be governed by guidelines issued by the University in accordance with statutory provisions.

Candidates are required to appear for an entrance examination followed by interview on 5th December, 2011 in the Department of Business Economics, University of Delhi, South Campus, New Delhi-110021 Following weightage will be given to various components of criteria laid down for the admission to the Ph.D programme.

Short Term Course on “Advances In VLSI Signal Processing” 21st – 25th December, 2011

The course may be viewed as a consolidated form of a semester long, graduate course on VLSI DSP system/architecture design. Participants from academia may thus find the course to be useful to develop similar courses at their respective institutions. Alternatively, the course may also be used as a reference by industrial professionals interested in VLSI design of signal processing and communication systems. The course assumes minimal prerequisites - an undergraduate level knowledge of digital circuit design and elementary DSP operations is sufficient for one to be able to attend the course.
