Post Graduate Scholarships for Professional Courses for SC/ST Candidates For The Year 2011-12

Objective:

The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to 1000 SC/ST candidates to pursue postgraduate level studies in Professional subjects at recognized Indian Universities/Institutions/Colleges.

Eligibility:

i) The candidate must have obtained Graduate degree in the relevant subject and obtained admission at Postgraduate level for regular full time course in any of the Professional subject in a recognized University/Institution/College.

ii) Candidates pursuing post graduate course in professional subjects by correspondence or by Distance Education mode are not eligible to receive financial assistance under this scheme.

iii) The upper age limit for male applicants is 45 years as on 1st July on the year of application, and 50 years in the case of female candidates. In exceptional cases, the age may be relaxed.

How to Get Admission in PGDM and PGDCM 2012-14 in IIMC ? What are the Criteria for Short Listing and Final selection of PGDM and PGDCM ?

Criteria for short listing and final selection of PGDM and PGDCM candidates for 2012-2014 Batch

Stage I : Candidates will be shortlisted based on CAT score and academic performance provided they achieve the following minimum section-wise and overall CAT 2011 percentile scores:

Stage II : Total score of a candidate will be computed out of 100, the break-up of which is given in Table 1 below:

1. For SSC and HSC marks, scores will be awarded out of five points for each based on Table 3 below. The marks obtained by candidates will be rounded to the nearest integers:

Shortlisted candidates based on the above criteria will be appearing for the GDPI which also has a written component. The shortlisting will be based on merit in each category, minimum qualification on the above mentioned criteria would not automatically shortlist the candidate for the next level.

In the Science Cartoon category, not more than four original cartoons may be sent per entrant. And remember, the cartoons should relate to scientific topics only.

In the Science Fiction category, readers are requested to send only one entry per entrant. The entries must be restricted to about 2000-2500
words.

Eligibility criteria


Graduates with a minimum experience of five years in any of the following sectors namely government, regulatory bodies, industry, research/academic institutions, and donor/consultant organizations.

Selection process


The programme would draw support from the Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India. Selection of potential participants from the civil services consists of two stages. In the first, applications will be screened by the Department of Personnel and Training based on appropriate eligibility criteria as defined by the department.

In the second stage, a selection committee constituted according to the rules of the TERI University (including a nominee of the Department of Personnel and Training), will interview the short-listed candidates. The committee will select up to 30 candidates. The list of the selected candidates will then be forwarded to the Department for processing as necessary. Applications from candidates other than those in the civil services will be screened, and the shortlisted candidates interviewed, by the TERI University. The total number of candidates for the programme would not exceed 40 in any batch.

5 Fellow Programme in Management (FPM)

Eligibility: Postgraduates in any discipline (or professional field) related to management with at least 55% marks (or graduate engineers with at least 55% marks and having at least 2 years of work experience) are eligible to apply for the FPM. In case the score is available on a letter-grade system, the Institute expects a minimum cumulative score of 4.80 on an 8-point scale (or 6.00 on a 10-point scale). Although the eligibility criteria are defined in these terms, the Institute prefers applicants who have excellent academic record as well as rich managerial experience.
