M.Phil Programme in Botany for Session 2010 - 11

Applications are invited for admission through entrance test to M.Phil Programme in Botany in the Department of Botany, University of Jammu for the academic session 2010-11 as per new statues modified vide Notification No. 1 of 2010 dated 26.04.2010 and No. F.Acd/IUI/39/10/3796-3815 dated 08.07.2010 (available on www.Jammuuniversity.in).

Candidates having 55% marks in M.Sc. Botany are eligible for the admission. The syllabus for the entrance test is available on request from the office of the undersigned. The application forms complete in all respects and duly supported by requisite documents must be deposited in the office of the department on or before 27.12.2010 upto 5.00 p.m.

Admission to Ph.D Programme

Applications on prescribed Application Form are invited for admission to Ph.D. programme in Plant Sciences, Animal Sciences and Management Studies for the year 2010 - 11.

The applicants should hold Masters Degree with at least 55% marks in the subject or a subject allied to that in which they desire to pursue research OR should hold M. Phil degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks or B Grade on 4 point scale.

Admission will be made through Entrance Test followed by Interview on dates that will be duly notified. Candidates who have passed M. Phil or cleared NET(JRF) / SLET are, however exempted from the test and will be enrolled directly. For admission to Science Departments the applicants must hold a fellowship.

The merit of candidates for selection will be determined by their score in the Entrance Test and the Interview.
