Anna University Chennai is organizing Tamil Nadu State Level Placement Programme 2009-10 (TNSLPP), for the Present Final Year (2010 Passing Out) Students studying in Self Financing Engineering Colleges of Tamil Nadu. M/s Cognizant Technology Solutions, has kindly agreed to participate in this Placement programme on 15th & 16th April, 2010. Centre for University Industry Collaboration, Anna University Chennai is conducting this programme at K.S. Rangasamy College of Technology, K.S.R. Kalvinagar, Thokkavadi Post, Tiruchengode – 637 209 for the 2010 Passing Out Students.

As per the eligibility criteria, the Final year students of B.E. / B.Tech. (CSE, ECE, EEE, EIE, ICE & IT) with an average of 78.00% and above from I Semester to VII Semester will be considered for this recruitment programme. It is mandatory that all the students should secure an average of 60% and above marks consistently in their (10th & Plus 2). It is requested that the Principal / Placement Officers of the College should verify the marks of the students and certify their eligibility to attend the campus placement.

Applications are invited for the TANCET 2010 to be conducted by Anna University Chennai on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu on 29th & 30th May 2010, from candidates who seek admission to 1. M.B.A., 2. M.C.A., and 3. M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Plan. Degree Programmes in Tamil Nadu for the year 2010-2011 offered at University Departments of Anna University Chennai, Anna University Coimbatore, Anna University Trichy, Anna University Tirunelveli, Govt. Engineering, Arts and Science Colleges, Govt. Aided Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges, and Govt. Quota seats in self-financing Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges / stand alone Institutions. Some Universities and Self–Financing Engineering Colleges may also opt to admit the candidates on the basis of TANCET 2010.

Eligibility:

1. MBA: A pass in any recognised Bachelor’s degree with 10 + 2 + 3 or 4 years or a pass in any degree with 10 + 3 years diploma + 3 years pattern.

2. MCA: a) A pass in any recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration (10 + 2 + 3 / 4 years pattern) in any discipline with core Mathematics (or) Business Mathematics at +2 level or A pass in any recognised Bachelor’s degree with 10+3 years Diploma +3 years pattern with Mathematics at Diploma level or Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level or A pass in any recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration (10 + 2 + 3 pattern) in any discipline with Mathematics or Statistics as any one of the subjects.

3. M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan.: Details of the common eligibility criteria are available in the “Information & Instructions Booklet” for TANCET 2010 to be issued during Spot Registration and also in the website: www.annauniv.edu/tancet2010.

Application Form is common for all the three entrance tests. Candidates have to submit only one application. The candidates have to pay a fee of Rs.300/- (Rs.150/- for SC / SCA / ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu on production of a copy of Permanent Community Certificate) as entrance test fee for any one of the Programmes either (1) M.B.A. or (2) M.C.A. or (3) M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./ M.Plan

Admission to Ph.D. Programme for 2010-2011

National Institute of Plant Genome Research, is an Autonomous Research Institution, funded by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, and conducts basic and applied research in the frontier areas of plant biology. The Institute invites applications from candidates who have completed or will be completing M. Sc. (by August 31, 2010) in Life Science or equivalent in related disciplines with minimum 55% marks, and have cleared the CSIR-UGC NET exam / DBT-JRF (selected through BET/BINC) / ICMR NET exam for JRF (with a valid Junior Research Fellowship as on September 1, 2010), for conducting advanced researches in the frontier areas of Plant Biology such as, Computational Biology, Genome Analysis and Molecular Mapping, Molecular Mechanism of Abiotic Stress Responses, Nutritional Genomics, Plant Development and Architecture, Plant Immunity, Transgenics for crop improvement etc. Reservations are as per statutory norms. The selection will be made on the basis of interview only.

The selected candidates will be enrolled for Ph.D. program in academic affiliation with the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. NIPGR will provide shared accommodation to selected candidates.

Reservation of seats: Reservation of seats shall be as per the GOI/UGC norms for SC/ST/OBC/PH and wards/dependants of defence personnel, Kashmiri migrants and foreign nationals/NRIs. Few seats are also provided to the nominees from some UT/NE states. Relaxation in the prescribed percentage of marks in the qualifying degree examination is also provided for SC/ST/PH categories

Hostel accommodation : Hostel accommodation is not guaranteed to all the students admitted due to paucity.
