(1) As a chalan at no extra cost at any branch of ICICI bank in India. Please mention FC-CMC-V on the chalan.

(2) Demand draft in favour of “C.M.C. Vellore Association a/c” on any scheduled bank, payable in Vellore.

Visiting Students Programme 2010

As part of its outreach activities, Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) is seeking applications for the Visiting Students Programme 2010.

Visiting Students Programme
is meant to provide a taste of economics research for Masters (M.A., M.B.A., M.Com., M.Sc. and M.Stat.) and Engineering (B.E., B.Tech.) students of other Colleges/Institutes/Universities.

Eligibility: First year Masters and third year Engineering students can apply for this programme. For those pursuing their Master’s in Economics, eligibility for this program is at least a Second Division at their Bachelor’s level. For students of other disciplines, eligibility is a First Division in their previous degree obtained. For B.E./B.Tech. students, the performance in the first three years or whatever is available will also be taken into consideration.

Selection
would be based on a statement of purpose of one page (about 300 words curriculum vitae and recommendation letter from their College/Institute/University with communication details of the concerned authority.

Applications can be sent electronically (supporting documents should be scanned) or by posted (only self-attested copies of supporting documents be sent now) to reach IGIDR by 12 March 2010. The subject head for email and top of the envelope for post should indicate “APPLICATION FOR VISITING STUDENTS PROGRAMME 2010”. Selected participants would be intimated about the decision by end April.

Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) invites applications for admission to the following programmes:

1. M.Sc. (Economics): This is a two-year programme commencing August 2010.

Eligibility: Minimum qualification: B.A./B.Sc. in Economics/B.Com./B.Stat./B.Sc. (Physics or mathematics)/B.Tech./B.E. with at least a second division for Economics discipline and first division for other disciplines. The applicant must have studied mathematics at the higher secondary level or should be able to demonstrate equivalent mathematical ability.

Some need-based scholarships are available to Masters students as per Institute’s norms. The second year Masters students are eligible to express interest to work as Graduate Assistants and depending upon the availability and norms, might be awarded such assistantships.

2. M.Phil./Ph.D. (Development Studies): These are interdisciplinary programmes commencing August 2010. The duration of M.Phil. programme is two years and that of Ph.D. programme is four years.

Eligibility: Minimum qualification: M.A./M.Sc in Economics/M.Stat./M.Sc. (Physics or Mathematics or Environmental Science or Operations Research)/M.B.A./M.Tech./M.E./ B.Tech./B.E. with at least 55% aggregate marks for Economics discipline and 60% aggregate marks for other disciplines. The applicant must have studied Mathematics at the higher secondary level or should be able to demonstrate equivalent mathematical ability.

Stipend: M.Phil./Ph.D. students receive a monthly stipend of Rs.12,000/- in the first two years. Those students, who fulfill the terms and conditions for Ph.D. registration, would receive a monthly stipend of Rs.18,000/- after Ph. D. registration in the third year.

Eligibility:
(a) Minimum qualification: M.A./M.Sc in Economics/M.Stat./M.Sc. (Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Environmental Science or Operations Research)/M.B.A./M.Tech./M.E./ B.Tech./B.E. or equivalent with at least 55% aggregate marks for Economics discipline and 60% aggregate marks for other disciplines. The applicant must have studied Mathematics at the higher secondary level or should be able to demonstrate equivalent mathematical ability. (b) The applicants ought to have a minimum of three years of work experience and they need to apply with the `No Objection Certificate’ along with leave authorization on the official letterhead of the Organization duly signed by the authorized official of the Organization. (c) Applicants be preferably below 45 years of age; it can be relaxed in case of exceptional candidates.

How to Apply: Candidates should apply not later than April 30, 2010 with (a) their current curriculum vita, (b) two, passport size photographs, (c) two reference letters (in sealed envelopes and on official letterheads of the issuing authority), (d) No objection Certificate along with leave authorization on the official letterhead of the Organization duly signed by the authorized official of the Organization. How To Apply:


i) Submission of Online Application

Online submission of application may be made by accessing the Institute website. There is a concession of Rs. 100/- for online submission of application. For online submission of form the candidates should first get a Bank Draft of Rs.200/- for General/OBC (Non-Creamy layer) (Rs.50/- for SC/ST/PH) categories drawn in favour of “Registrar, IIT Delhi” payable at SBI, IIT Delhi or Canara Bank, SDA.

ii) Application by downloading form

Please visit to download the Information Brochure and Application Form. The completed application form alongwith a Bank Draft of Rs.300/- for General/OBC (Non-creamy layer) candidates (Rs. 150/- for SC/ST/PH), drawn in favour of “Registrar, IIT Delhi”, payable at SBI, IIT Delhi or Canara Bank, SDA should be sent to the address given in para (iv) below. The form not accompanied with the Bank Draft will not be entertained.

iii) Collection of Application form through post or in person


Application Form and Information Brochure can also be obtained from the the address given in para (iv) below by sending application fee of Rs. 300/- for General/OBC(Non-creamy layer) candidates (Rs. 150/- for SC/ST/PH candidates) by a Bank Draft drawn in favour of “Registrar, IIT Delhi” payable at SBI, IIT Delhi or Canara Bank, SDA along with a self addressed envelope (25 cm x 20 cm) affixing postage stamps worth Rs. 15/-. Applications are invited for Entrance Test and admission into B.Ed.(Distance Mode) Teachers with a Bachelor Degree serving in a recognized school located in OU local area and having at least two years experience of school teaching are eligible to apply. The eligibility criteria and other information are given in information brochure. The application form alongwith the information brochure can be obtained from the Directorate of Admissions, Near University Press, Osmania University on payment of Rs.100/- in cash. The filled in application form and ICR sheet along with a demand draft for Rs.450/- (towards registration fee) should be submitted to the Director, Directorate of Admissions, Near University Press, Osmania University, Hyderabad – 500 609 on or before the last dates mentioned below. The application form alongwith ICR sheet and information brochure is also available on OU website www.osmania.ac.in. The candidate can download a copy of application from and ICR sheet and apply to the Director, Directorate of Admissions, Osmania University with a Demand Draft for Rs.600/-. Rajasthan Management Aptitude Test For Admission to MBA Course


RMAT-2010 will be held on 23rd May, 2010 (Sunday) from 10.00 A.M. to 12.30 P.M.


Eligibility: The candidates must possess Graduate (10+2+3) degree or equivalent from any recognized University with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of SC/ST and Non creamy layer OBC candidates), without any approximation in the Graduate Examination. However, the candidate appearing for the qualifying examination (Graduate Degree) in 2010, will also be permitted to appear in the admission test but their admission will be provisional subject to furnishing the mark sheet of qualifying examination (with the prescribed eligibility) by 31st July, 2010 to the Coordinator, RMAT-2010. Final year appearing students are required to submit a certificate from college/institution (Cerfiticate-6). Non-Collegiate students shall get the certificate-6 signed by the centre/university.
