Applications from graduate (preferably with Honours and /or Master degree) candidates in a (10+2+3) pattern (except deputed category) in prescribed forms obtainable from the University Sales counter on payment of Rs.50/- are invited for the B.Ed. Course of the academic session 2010-11. Applicants, both deputed and fresher, must have at least 50% marks in Bachelors’ Degree and/or in the Masters’ degree Examination of Calcutta University or other recognized University with any two school subjects from the following:1)Bengali 2) English 3) Sanskrit 4) Mathematics 5) History 6) Geography 7) Accountancy and Book Keeping 8) Economics 9) Education 10) Political Science 11)Hindi 12) Urdu 13) Arabic. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC and ST Candidates. Applications complete in all respects along with attested copies of certificates and testimonials must be submitted to the Office of the Secretary, U.C.A.C., at Shahid Kshudiram Sikshaprangan, 1,Reformatory Street,(Ground floor),Kolkata-700027 on or before 10. 2. 2010 upto 4.00 P.M. on all working days.

Age limit: Upto 35 years for Fresher Candidates and 45 years for Deputed candidates as on 30.6.2010.

Selection will be made strictly as per University norms. Names of the selected candidates will be walled up in the Notice Board duly. No individual intimation will be given. Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe applicants from the other states will not get the reservation facilities of S.C./S.T.

Names of the selected candidates who will fail to report on 1st July 2010 and who will remain absent continuously for fifteen days without prior information will be automatically struck off.

Advertisement for Admission to Ph.D Programme

Applications are invited for admission to Ph.D programme in History, Department of History, University of Calcutta, 1, Reformatory Street, Kolkata-27. Candidates should apply in the prescribed proforma by paying Rs.100/= through a challan obtainable from college street campus (cash counter). The eligible candidates will have to appear in a written examination of two hours duration to be held in this Department on 26/02/10 at 2pm. The list of successful candidates will be displayed in the Notice Board of the Department on 03/03/10. They will have to appear in an interview, the date of which will be notified on the Departmental Notice Board. The final selection for joining this programme will be on the basis of the interview. The allocation of supervisors will be on the basis of this interview (See CU website for the areas of research in the Department).

Those candidates who have already passed U.G.C / CSIR (JRF) Examinations / NET / SET / SLET / Teacher Fellowship or equivalent examinations need not appear at the written examination and can directly apply to appear at the interview.

Admission to Ph.D.(Tech) Programme in Ceramic Engineering/Oil Technology/ Petrochemicals & Petroleum Refinery Engineering/Pharmaceutical & Fine Chemical Technology/Chemical Technology(Applied Chemistry)

Total Number of Seats : 25 (5 in each Ph.D. Programme) for the year 2010

Eligibility :

* Candidates having degree in Bachelor of Technology or Master of Science (without NET/SET/SLET/GATE/M.Phil) securing 1st class (selection through Entrance Test & Interview);
* Candidates having degree in Master of Technology or Equivalent or Master of Science (with NET/SET/SLET/GATE/M.Phil) securing 1st class (selection through Interview only).

Entrance Test :

* The Ph.D. Entrance test will be of 50 marks (duration 1 hr.) consisting of both Multiple Choice Questions(MCQ) and short questions.
* The Syllabus for the Entrance Test and subsequent list of the successful candidates will be available in the Departmental Notice Board (near the room of the HOD, Ground floor, Applied Chemistry Building).
* The successful candidates will have to appear for an interview for final selection.

Applications are invited for admission into Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology (One year Self- Financed Professional course) in the department of Applied Psychology, C.U. for the academic session 2009-2010. In order to fill up the seats, the applications are invited from the Honours Graduates in Psychology / Education / Social Work / Sociology / Physiology / Human Development / Physical Education / Degree in Medical Science / Diploma in Rehabilitation Psychology. Final selection of candidates will be made on the basis of interview.

Sponsored candidates with at least Graduate level education in any discipline and work experience of at least two years in relevant professional area, may also be admitted.

The duration of course is 1 year including the completion of final examination.
