Traineeship / Studentship In BioInformatics At The APEX BioInformatics Centre For The Year 2010-11


The Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India has established a nationwide Bioinformatics Network in the country known as Biotechnology Information System (BTISnet), to accelerate Biotechnology R&D and industry activities. The Apex Biotechnology Information Centre (BTIC) of this network is situated in the Department of Biotechnology to coordinate the activities of the BTISnet. As part of the human resource development activities in Bioinformatics, the BTIC offers 6 months Traineeship /Studentship in bioinformatics.

Applications are invited for the Traineeship/Studentship for undertaking training and to carry out project work in the area of Bioinformatics. Applicant should possess PG degree/PG diploma in Bioinformatics for traineeship whereas those pursuing PG degree/PG diploma in Bioinformatics are eligible for studentship. The traineeship and the studentship are awarded for a period of six months from the date of joining and are not extendable. The selected candidates are entitled to receive a stipend of Rs. 5000/- per month for a period of 6 months.
