Notification for Pre-Registration Qualifying Entrance Examination (Written Test and Interview) for Ph.D Programs – August 2010
Eligible candidates desirous of pursuing Ph.D. Program (both FT/PT) in the University are informed to apply in the prescribed format and take up the Qualifying Entrance Examination (Written Test and Interview). Faculty-wise disciplines in which Ph.D programs are offered by the University are as below:
I. Faculty of Science: i) Mathematics ii) Physics iii) Computer Science iv) Chemistry v) Marine Biology vi) Biotechnology vii) Nano Science and Technology viii) Bioinformatics ix) Bioelectronics and Biosensor x) Animal Health and Management xi) Zoology , xii) Botany and xiii) Library and Information Science and xiv) Home Science
II. Faculty of Arts: i) Tamil ii) English iii) Women’s Studies and iv) Rural Development
III. Faculty of Education: i) Education and ii) Physical Education and Health Science
IV. Faculty of Management: i) Commerce ii) Corporate Secretaryship iii) Bank Management iv) Management Studies v) International Business and vi) Economics.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates those who have passed through 10+2+3+2 / 11+1+3+2 pattern alone can apply
P.G. Degree with 50% of marks for SC/ST
P.G. Degree with 55% of marks for all others
Ph.D. in Education – Only those who have passed M.Ed., alone in eligible to apply
Candidates with UGC/CSIR Junior Research Fellowship / Senior Research Fellowship / Project Fellow or of similar status working on funded projects with the University/Approved Research Centres of the University are exempted from Entrance examination.
