PARAMAHANSA YOGANANDA SCHOLARSHIPS

We are happy to announce 8 Paramhansa yogananda Scholarships for the Post Graduate Students of the Panjab University for the year 2010-2011. This Scholarship was instituted in the year 2000 to help deserving students. The successful candidates will receive total of Rs 5,000/- each to help meet the cost of books, examination fees, etc.
The selection criteria for the scholarships are as follows: -
COMPETITIVE EXAM: The Scholarships will be given to those students who participate in a Competitive examination, details in regard to which are given here under.
ELIGIBILITY: Students doing their 1st yr Post Graduate (M.A./M.Sc./M.C.A./ M.Pharma / M.B.A. etc. 1st year) courses at Panjab University, Chandigarh, are eligible to participate in the competitive examination. Scholarships shall be given during the 2nd year of post graduation.
SYLLABUS: The spiritual classic ‘AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A YOGI’ authored by SRI SRI PARAMAHANSA YOGANANDA. This book is available at addresses given below on payment / on loan against deposit of security of Rs. 100/-. It is also available at the leading bookstores.
REGISTRATION: Prospective candidates will have to register themselves for the competitive examination with Dr. Suman Beri (Physics Deptt., P.U.) / Mr. Vivek Atray, at the office of YSS Dhyana Kendra, Sector-28-D (adjacent to Gujjar Bhavan) Chandigarh.
Last date for Registration is 15-2-10. There is no Registration fee. More guidelines will be made available at the time of Registration.
EXAMINATION DATE: 27th Feb 2010
VENUE: Panjab University / YSS Dhyana Kendra, Sector-28-D, Chandigarh.
DURATION: 3 hours.
QUESTION BANK & OTHER DETAILS: 15 questions based on the book ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’ are given in advance along with registration. Students should prepare themselves for all the questions. However for examination, 5 out of these questions will be set. Students will have to answer all the five questions (each of length approximately 600 words).
THE SCHOLARSHIPS WILL BE AWARDED TO THE STUDENTS WHO SECURE THE FIRST 8 POSITIONS IN THE TEST MERIT-WISE. MINIMUM QUALIFYING MARKS ARE 60%
