MANAGEMENT ENTRANCE TEST (MET) -2009 and

MASTER OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS ENTRANCE TEST (PRE-MCA) -2009

M.P.Professional Examination Board, Bhopal will conduct Entrance Tests for admission to AICTE approved MCA/MBA courses in institutions located in the state of Madhya Pradesh for the academic session 2009-2010.

1. Date of Examination : SUNDAY 24-05-2009 .

MET: Forenoon session - 08.00 A.M. to 11.00 A.M.
PRE-MCA :Afternoon session -02.00 P.M. to 04.15 P.M.

3. Domicile Requirements: No candidate shall be selected against M.P. Domicile seats unless he/she fulfills the domicile requirement as mentioned is rule 1.4.3 and 2.5.3 (the details are available on website under the rules of MET/Pre MCA)

4. Eligibility :

MBA and Allied Courses: Candidate should be a graduate or post graduate with at least 50% marks (40% in case of SC, ST, OBC category of Madhya Pradesh) in aggregate of any UGC/AICTE approved Indian University or from a Foreign university recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) or institute recognized by the concerned University as equivalent thereto. Bachelor's degree must be of minimum three years duration after passing Higher Secondary (10+2) examination of (10+2) system or equivalent.

MCA Courses : Candidate should be a graduate of any UGC/AICTE approved Indian University or from a foreign University recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) or Institute recognized by the concerned University as equivalent thereto. The Bachelor's degree must be of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics as compulsory or an additional subject at either Higher Secondary (10+2) or at Graduation level. Candidates with Bachelor of Computer applications (B.C.A.) degree of minimum three years duration all also eligible for admission.

Note: Candidates in the final year of any degree examination can also appear in the MET-2009 / Pre-MCA-2009 on provisional basis. But such a candidate shall have to produce the original certificate of having passed/mark sheet of the final year of the degree examination at the time of counselling.

5. Availibilty of Application Form : The Application Forms and Rule Book can be obtained on cash payment of Rs. 1000/- for Pre-MCA, Rs. 1500/- for MET and Rs 2000/- for both Pre-MCA and MET (which includes test fee also) from 09-04-2009 to 25-04-2009.

The applicant can also obtain application form through post by sending a request for the same to Board so as to reach the office latest by 18-04-2009. Request for application form by post received after 18-04-2009 shall not be considered.

7. Last date of receipt of duly filled/ completed Application Forms at M.P.P.E.B., Bhopal office is 29-04-2009.

8. Online submission of Application Form : Candidates shall have to apply online from 09-04-2009 to 29-04-2009. either through www.vyapam.nic.in or www.mponline.gov.in website on payment of examination fee Rs. 1050/- in case applying for Pre-MCA, Rs. 1550/- for MET and Rs 2050/- for both Pre-MCA and MET by either credit card or cash payment from the above Authorised Kiosks of MPONLINE. 9. INFORMATION REGARDING REJECTION :-

(a) After the submission of the application form there is no provision of correction/ rectification in the entries of the submitted application form. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

This year IIITD invites applications for collaborative PhD program in the following three research areas:

Biometrics: collaborators are from West Virginia University, USA, Michigan State University, USA, University of Sassari, Italy, and The Honkong Polytechnic University

Data management: collaborators are from University of Aizu, Japan and IBM India Research Lab, New Delhi

Software engineering: collaborators are from IBM India Research Lab, New Delhi, Microsoft Research, Bangalore, Fraunhofer Institute of Experimental Software Engineering, Kaiserslautern, Germany, University Polytechnic Milan, Italy, Osaka University, Japan, and Saarland University, Germany

Eligibility: IIITD is looking for candidates who have good programming expertise, solid foundations in CS/Maths, and interest in pursuing research in one of the above mentioned areas. Eligibility criteria for applying: A person who graduated within the last two years with a BTech/BE/MTech/MS/ME in CS/IT/ECE/EE with a good academic record (at least a CGPA of 7.5 or equivalent in IITs/NITs, or in the top 10% in his/her CS/IT/ECE/EE batch from other institutions). Requirements may be relaxed for candidates with publications/ R&D/software development experience in their area of interest.

1. KHOSLA NATIONAL AWARD

Khosla National Award of Rs. 51,000/- is given annually to an eminent Engineer/Scientist/Technologist from various disciplines for lifetime achivement irrespective of their association with IIT Roorkee. The award will also include a citation and a gold medal. The award will be open to Indian Nationals only, for original research work and/or application to real life problems for the work done in India.

2. A.S. ARYA–IITR DISASTER PREVENTION AWARD

The award is made for outstanding contribution in the area of Disaster Prevention / Mitigation. The term disaster shall include all types of Natural Disasters, Earthquakes, Cyclones, Floods, Land Slides, Forest Fires and Snow Avalanche. The Annual Award consists of a citation and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/-.

The award is open to citizens of India, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh and will be given on the work done in one or more of these countries.

He/She shall have distinguished himself/herself through outstanding work and internationally recognized action, going beyond the scope of his/her normal functions in one or more of the following –

The implementation at national or regional level, of activities designed to strengthen people’s awareness of natural disasters.

The launching of scientific activities contributing to technological innovation facilitating disaster prediction.

The launching of scientific activities contributing to the strengthening disaster prevention and preparedness.

The promotion of activities which reduce the economic impact of disasters and which contribute to sustainable developments.

Other activities integrating disaster prevention and preparedness into development planning.

The award may be given to an individual or a group of individuals for outstanding joint effort in the above areas.

3. SHAMSHER PRAKASH RESEARCH AWARD

The Annual Award is made for outstanding work in the field of Geotechnical and/or Geotechnical–Earthquake Engineering. It consists of a citation and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/– and is open to a renowned young Indian Engineer, Scientist or Researcher who has not completed 45 years of age on Jan.01,2009. The award will be primarily based on the research work done in the past five calender years. (Self Nominations may also be accepted for Shamsher Prakash Research Award)

4. V. N. M. M. AWARD

The annual Award of Rs. 40,000 and a citation to an eminent Engineer for Innovactive and Creative Work in the field of Engineering in India in any discipline to Indian National for this work done in India.

5. MAHESH VARMA CONSTRUCTION RESEARCH AWARD

One biennial Award of Rs. 15,000/- is made for outstanding contribution by a young Engineer, Technologist or Scientist of Indian nationality through original research for innovations in the field of Construction Technology and Construction Management categorised by Theoretical Work or Applied Research done in India during the five years preceding the year of Award.

(b) Obtain Application Form by making written request : The Application Form alongwith the Information Brochure can be obtained from the “Chairman, PG Admission, IIT Roorkee, ROORKEE-247 667 by sending a Demand Draft of Rs. 50/- drawn in favour of “Chairman, PG Admission, IIT Roorkee” payable at Roorkee, along with two self addressed slips which should reach latest by April 17, 2009.

SUBMISSION OF FILLED APPLICATION FORM

The filled Application Form (Downloaded from Institute website or Obtained by written request as the case may be) alongwith Application Fee through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of “Chairman, PG Admission, IIT Roorkee” payable at Roorkee, as given below be sent to the “Chairman, PG Admission, IIT Roorkee, ROORKEE-247667”.

For General/OBC Category : Rs. 400/- + *Rs. 100/-
For SC/ST/PD Category : Rs. 200/- + *Rs. 100/-

*Rs. 100/- per additional department (if applied)

IMPORTANT NOTE

A candidate may apply maximum for four Departments and 14 different programmes but ONLY ONE Application Form is to be filled-up. However, fee of Rs. 100/- per additional Department shall be payable by the candidate. Admission will be made strictly on the basis of order of preferences for eligible programmes/GATE disciplines.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

A minimum aggregate score of 60% or 6.00 CGPA on 10 point scale for General/ OBC candidates and 55% or 5.50 CGPA on 10 point scale for SC/ST/PD candidates at the qualifying degree is essential for all the above programmes.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

Admission will be made on the basis of either GATE percentile only or GATE percentile and Interview/Written Test. For Sponsored candidates the admission will be on the basis of Interview/Written Test and relevant experience. There will be cut offs for calling the candidates for Interview/Written Test and/or for preparing merit list for different programmes for different categories of candidates.

B.Tech. degree holders from IITs with minimum CGPA of 8.00 on 10 point scale will also be eligible for admission with MHRD assistantship without GATE score upto 10% of the Intake.

RESERVATION OF SEATS

Certain number of seats are reserved for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories and Person with Disabilities (PD) as per the Govt. of India rules. For details refer to the Information Brochure.

FINAL YEAR CANDIDATES

Candidates appearing for the final year of their qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
