B) Nationality/Age:

NOTICE FOR 3RD ONLINE COUNSELING

The Second round of online counseling for admission to various diploma courses through JET/LEET/ Pharmacy was completed on 22nd July 2009. The successful candidates who have been allotted a seat in 2nd counseling are requested to report to the allotted institute on or before 29th July to confirm their seat, else the allotment shall be cancelled.

After category wise merger of seats of 2nd counseling to general quota seats, ample number of seats even in most prestigious polytechnics and courses are available for allotment. The candidates are advised to avail this opportunity by participating in 3rd counseling.

The vacancy position of various polytechnics for 3rd counseling is available on the website www.psbte.gov.in

WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE IN 2ND COUNSELING


Situation 1 :
If the candidate is partly satisfied with the allotted institute and course and wants to retain his seat, then he is required to deposit the semester fee and report at the allotted institute by the specified reporting time with original certificates. He may participate in 3rd counseling for improving his choice of course/polytechnic. The Candidate should participate in 3rd round of online counseling after depositing the 3rd counseling fee. Re register and fill the choices preferred over the already confirmed seat. In case he gets another seat in the 3rd counseling, the previous confirmed seat shall be cancelled and replaced by the new seat. The semester fee deposited in 2nd counseling shall be automatically adjusted.

Situation 2 : The candidates who have not participated in 1st /2nd round of counseling OR those who have not been allotted any seat OR seat has been cancelled due to any reason, may participate in 3rd round of online counseling by depositing the 3rd counseling fee. Register and fill their choices in order of preference.

Important Note :

1. In case the candidate is allotted any seat in the 3rd round then his previous seat will be automatically cancelled and his claim on the previous seat shall stand forfieted. So the candidates are advised to
fill only those choices which are preferred over the already confirmed seat.

2. 3rd counseling is open for all eligible candidates of Punjab, Chandigarh and other states like Haryana, J&K, HP etc. The admission shall be based on merit and no reservation shall be applicable.

The U.G.C. has approved rupees 1579.25 lakhs grant as part of XIth Plan Allocation to Panjab University. A communication to this effect has been sent by the Secretary, University Grants Commission, New Delhi.

PREAMBLE

The National Mission on Power Electronics Technology (NaMPET) is a national mission programme launched in November 2004 by the Department of Information Technology (DIT) under Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Government of India. It is a pioneering endeavour to galvanize and streamline the academic, research, engineering and entrepreneurial activities within India in the area of Power Electronics Technology. Principal objective of NaMPET is to enable Indian Power Electronics Industries to attain a dominant position in the international market. A National Steering Committee comprising of eminent experts from different agencies and institutions in India guides the activities of NaMPET and NWPEE-2009 is one of such activities.

The National Workshop on Power Electronics Education (NWPEE 2009) aims to bring together experts from academic institutions to share their views in the following key directions.

• Restructuring of Power Electronics curriculum at BE and PG level and suggest suitable course structure to the universities

• Preparing a list of a set of laboratory equipment, and prototype suitable lab experiments to supplement the curriculum

• Introducing several specialized course on advanced Power Electronics topics such as a) Power Quality b) AC Drives c) Digital control of PE systems d) and so on

REGISTRATION

There is no registration fee. Invited delegates will be paid travel allowances as per Government of India norms. Local transport and hospitality will be provided by NIT Rourkela. However, delegates should inform their date and time of arrival at Rourkela and departure from Rourkela, well in advance.
