THE MODIFIED DATE OF THE EXAMINATION IS ON SATURDAY 16TH MAY 2009 FROM 11.00 A.M. TO 02.00 P.M

Admission to Ph.D. Programme for 2009-2010


National Institute of Plant Genome Research, is an Autonomous Research Institution, funded by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, and conducts basic and applied research in the frontier areas of plant biology. The Institute invites applications from candidates who have completed or will be completing M. Sc. (by August 11, 2009) in Life Science or equivalent in related disciplines with minimum 55% marks, and have cleared the CSIR-UGC NET exam / DBT-JRF (selected through BET/BINC) / ICMR NET exam for JRF (with a valid Junior Research Fellowship as on September 1, 2009), for conducting advanced researches in the frontier areas of Plant Science such as Developmental Biology, Signal Transduction, Stress Biology, Structural, Functional and Nutritional Genomics, Developing Transgenic Crop Plants etc. Reservations are as per statutory norms. The selection will be made on the basis of interview only.

The selected candidates will be enrolled for Ph.D. program in academic affiliation with the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. NIPGR will provide shared accommodation to selected candidates.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

1. Application should be typed on A-4 size plain paper in the format given (Form can be downloaded from website).

2. Item 3 and 6 in the format should be filled in as shown in the Senior Secondary School Certificate or equivalent.

3. Each page in the typed application form should be signed by the candidate.

4. Completed application must be accompanied with a crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 300/- in favor of Director, National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi. A demand draft of Rs. 100/- is acceptable from SC/ST candidate provided relevant documentary proof is enclosed. The Demand Draft is not refundable.

5. Application should be accompanied by attested copies of certificates and mark sheets mentioning the division obtained.

6.
Two passport size recent photographs should be enclosed. One of these should be signed by the candidate and pasted on the application form, while the other should be enclosed.

7. Application along with Demand Draft should be sent to "The Director, National Institute of Plant Genome Research, Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, J.N.U. Campus, Post Box No. 10531, New Delhi-110 067" so as to reach on or before June 9, 2009.

8. Incomplete applications and those received after the closing date will not be entertained. The decision of the Institute will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

9. NIPGR will not provide any travel expenses to candidates appearing for interview.

10. Applications must enclose documentary evidence for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) if applicable, along with other specified enclosures.

Eligibility Criteria


AGE: Candidate must be born on or before 31st Dec 1992 (i.e. not less than 17 years).

Minimum Qualification:


For MBBS/BDS - Candidate must have passed HSC (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 50% & 40% (SC/ST/OBC) categories. The Candidate must have passed the 10+2, i.e. ISC/ Intermediate or its equivalent from a Recognized Board.

For BAMS & BHMS - Candidate must have passed HSC (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology shall be eligible.

Candidates appearing for HSC (10+2)/ equivalent in March 2009 are also eligible to appear for CPMEE 2009. The candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination (XII) and result is not yet available are also eligible to appear in the common pre –medical entrance examination but such candidates shall submit the mark sheet of the qualifying examination (XII) on and before the date specified in the information brochure.

Eligibility

A bachelor degree in any subject of the University of Calicut or that of any other University recognized by the University of Calicut with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (including languages). (OBC and SC/ST students are allowed relaxation as per rules ie. 5% relaxation for OBC and other eligible communities and a mere pass for SC/ST). Candidates awaiting their degree results may also apply. But they should produce their original degree mark lists before the last date for the registration of their first semester MBA examinations. However, original Plus Two/PDC mark list should be produced for verification at the time of Personal Interview and Group Discussion.

Selection


Selection is based on Plus Two/Pre-degree marks and the scores obtained by the candidates in the entrance test (to be held during May 2009 at Calicut, Trichur, Ernakulam, Trivandrum and Kannur) Group discussion and Personal Interview. The University may cancel any of these entrance test centres if enough candidates do not opt for that centre for the test.

M.P.Professional Examination Board, Bhopal will conduct Entrance Tests for admission to AICTE approved MCA/MBA courses in institutions located in the state of Madhya Pradesh for the academic session 2009-2010.

1. Date of Examination : SUNDAY 24-05-2009 .

MET: Forenoon session - 08.00 A.M. to 11.00 A.M.
PRE-MCA :Afternoon session -02.00 P.M. to 04.15 P.M.

2. Examination Cities : Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, Rewa, Sagar, Ujjain, Delhi, Ahemdabad, Nagpur, Lucknow, Jaipur, Mumbai, and Kolkata.

3. Domicile Requirements:
No candidate shall be selected against M.P. Domicile seats unless he/she fulfills the domicile requirement as mentioned is rule 1.4.3 and 2.5.3 (the details are available on website under the rules of MET/Pre MCA)

4. Eligibility :

MBA and Allied Courses: Candidate should be a graduate or post graduate with at least 50% marks (40% in case of SC, ST, OBC category of Madhya Pradesh) in aggregate of any UGC/AICTE approved Indian University or from a Foreign university recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) or institute recognized by the concerned University as equivalent thereto. Bachelor's degree must be of minimum three years duration after passing Higher Secondary (10+2) examination of (10+2) system or equivalent.

MCA Courses :
Candidate should be a graduate of any UGC/AICTE approved Indian University or from a foreign University recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) or Institute recognized by the concerned University as equivalent thereto. The Bachelor's degree must be of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics as compulsory or an additional subject at either Higher Secondary (10+2) or at Graduation level. Candidates with Bachelor of Computer applications (B.C.A.) degree of minimum three years duration all also eligible for admission.

Note: Candidates in the final year of any degree examination can also appear in the MET-2009 / Pre-MCA-2009 on provisional basis. But such a candidate shall have to produce the original certificate of having passed/mark sheet of the final year of the degree examination at the time of counselling.

5. Availibilty of Application Form :
The Application Forms and Rule Book can be obtained on cash payment of Rs. 1000/- for Pre-MCA, Rs. 1500/- for MET and Rs 2000/- for both Pre-MCA and MET (which includes test fee also) from 09-04-2009 to 25-04-2009.

: Candidates shall have to apply online from 09-04-2009 to 29-04-2009. either through www.vyapam.nic.in or www.mponline.gov.in website on payment of examination fee Rs. 1050/- in case applying for Pre-MCA, Rs. 1550/- for MET and Rs 2050/- for both Pre-MCA and MET by either credit card or cash payment from the above Authorised Kiosks of MPONLINE. The List of Authorised Kiosk is available on the above websites.

9. INFORMATION REGARDING REJECTION :-


(a) After the submission of the application form there is no provision of correction/ rectification in the entries of the submitted application form. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

(b) The information regarding acceptance / rejection of applications form will be made available on the website of the Board www.vyapam.nic.in
