ELIGIBILITY: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering,Architecture, Management, Physical Sciences,Geography, Planning, Law, or Social Sciences,with some inclination towards habitat related issues/ sectors.

1. A Bachelor’s Degree of candidate must be of a minimum three years duration or its equivalent (under the pattern 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognized University.

2. Candidates who will complete all the requirements of their final year Bachelor’s Degree examinations by Saturday, June 20, 2009. In such cases, admission to any of the Master’s Degree Programmes of the Institute will be provisional. If a provisionally admitted student fails in the final year examination, the offer of provisional admission automatically stands cancelled.

Organised by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, South Asian Consortium for Interdisciplinary Water Resources Studies (SaciWATERs), Hyderabad, Society for Promoting Participative Ecosystem Management (SOPPECOM), Pune, and the Gender and Water Alliance (GWA).

Eligibility Criteria


We invite applications from diverse mid-level professionals—individuals working in development organisations, activists, academics, researchers, and officials working in state and central government departments of water and sanitation.

Applicants can be from India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and Pakistan. For the first programme, from amongst applicants from India, preference will be given to persons from the north, north-east and east India; and for the second, applicants from the south and west India will be preferred. For applicants from the other South Asian countries, there is no regional criterion; they may be from any part of their country.

The medium of instruction during the training will be English, and participants must be able to clearly comprehend and communicate in English. The organisers are not in a position to provide for translations

For details the respective Chairmen of the Departments of Studies may be approached. Candidates possessing M.A. Degree in Public Administration may be admitted to the Course of study leading to award of Ph. D. Degree inPublic Administration.

Provided further that in the Faculties of Engineering and Technology, Medicine and Unani Medicine candidates who have obtained the Master's degree of this University or a degree from any other University recognised by this University to be its equivalent, may be eligible for admission to the Course in the same or related discipline leading to the M.Phil. / Ph.D. degree in the Faculties aforesaid, but in such cases the admission shall be provisional and shall not be confirmed unless the candidate has passed a written and/or practical test including a viva voce, if deemed necessary, conducted by the Board of Studies concerned.

The intake will be limited to only 30 working teachers on recommendation of the Director / Principal for individual teacher of the concern institution in each course. The drop out in the middle of the course on request will be considered vacant and no substitute will be filled in place of vacancy. The fee will be Rs 30000/- per semester which can be refunded if the candidate did not attend from beginning of semester classes. This amount will include lodging and fooding in the hostel provided on the venue of the course. The fees will be paid by the candidate by demand draft in favour of Finance Officer, Uttarakhand Technical University, payable at Dehradun. Drop out candidate can avail the opportunity in next semester without payment of fees but refund of fees will not be a provision since engagement of teacher for teaching in the semester has been done on the basis of application of the candidate received. If the number of applications received are more then the intake a suitable criterion will be followed to regret the admission for particular semester. The criterion will be based on merit and experience of the teacher. Preference will be given to UTU affiliated institution followed by Polytechnic teachers over others. The admission to second year (lateral entry) of B.Tech., the candidate must have passed three years ‘Diploma in Engineering' or three years ‘B.Sc. degree with mathematics as one subject’ and securing minimum 60% marks in aggregate.

5. The admission to second year (lateral entry) of B.Pharm., the candidate must have passed ‘Diploma in Pharmacy' and securing minimum 60% marks in aggregate.

The candidates appearing in qualifying examination are also eligible to appear in UKSEE-2009 subject to the condition that they will fulfill the eligibility criteria at the time of counselling.

Admission to the Under Graduate & Post Graduate courses will be made through Under Graduate and Post Graduate Entrance Tests (UET/PET). However, there will be no entrance test for special courses of study (Diploma and Certificate Courses) except departmental test, if any.

Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply. The University reserves the right not to run a course. Reservation as per Govt. of India rules.

INFORMATION BULLETIN PLUS APPLICATION FORM can be obtained from the ENTRANCE TEST CELL, OFFICE OF THE CONTROLLER OF EXAMINATIONS, BHU, VARANASI 221 005, either on cash payment of Rs. 50/- (Fifty) only, from 11.00 AM to 3.00 PM on working days OR by registered post by sending a written request mentioning name of the course i.e. Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Special Courses of Study (Diploma and Certificate), postal address along with : (i) A crossed MICR Demand Draft/Bankers Cheque issued by any Nationalised/Scheduled Bank for Rs. 100/- (One Hundred) only in favour of the CONTROLLER OF EXAMINATIONS, BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY, payable at Varanasi, indicating name of candidate and course name on its reverse (ii) A self-addressed unstamped envelope of the size 32cm x 26cm. The UET/PET/Special Courses of Study (Diploma & Certificate) Information Bulletin Plus Application Form will also be available on cash payment at Rajiv Gandhi South Campus Barkachha, Mirzapur, and some other designated offices of the University.

The Joint Entrance Examination for the year 2009 -2010, Orissa shall be held on Sunday, May 24, 2009 at selected centres for admission to the first year Degree courses in Engineering/ Technology, MBBS/BDS, Pharmacy, MCA, MBA and to the Lateral Entry of State candidates to third semester of degree courses in Engineering/Technology and Pharmacy.

ELIGIBILITY

(A) For admission to First Year Bachelor programme in


(i) Engineering/Technology Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, and one from Chemistry/ Computer Science/Biology/ Biotechnology or pass in 10+3 diploma course in engineering including those having less than 60% marks in aggregate from SCTE&T, Orissa orequivalent.

(ii) Pharmacy Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Physics and Chemistry and one from Mathematics / Biotechnology/ Computer Science / Biology or pass in 10+3 diploma course in Pharmacy including those having less than 60% marks in aggregate from SCTE&T, Orissa or equivalent.

(iii) MBBS/BDS Pass or appearing in 10+2 examination of CHSE, Orissa or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with at least 50% marks in aggregate in these subjects taken together (40% for SC/ST) with age between 17 and 25 years as on 31.12.2009 (relaxable up to 3 years for SC/ST candidates).

(B) For admission to First Year Master programme in

(i) Computer Application (MCA) Pass or appearing in 2009 three years Bachelor's Degree examination in any discipline with pass in Mathematics at 10+2 level

(ii) Business Administration (MBA) Pass or appearing in 2009 three years Bachelor's Degree examination in any discipline from a UGC recognized University

(C) For admission to Second Year Engineering/Technology and Pharmacy under Lateral Entry

Pass or appearing in 3 years diploma course in Engineering and Pharmacy with a minimum 60% marks in aggregate from SCTE&VT, Orissa or equivalent

(D) For admission to Second Year Engineering/Technology under Lateral Entry


Pass or appearing in 2009, for the Bachelor's Degree examination of three years duration in Science from any University of Orissa or equivalent recognised by UGC and have passed with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate(First Division) with Mathematics at +3 level

(E) For admission to Second Year Pharmacy under Lateral Entry

Pass or appearing in 2009, for the Bachelor's Degree examination of three years duration in Science from any University of Orissa or equivalent recognised by UGC and have passed with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate ( First Division) with Biology at +3 level.

The ratio of distribution of seats under lateral entryfor Diploma : B. Sc. is 80:20

Note: Candidates are to produce their complete result alongwith original marksheet of qualifying examination at the time of counselling for admission

RESERVATION

The percentage of seats to be reserved for different categories is subject to change and the decision of the State Government as on the date of admission will be applicable.

OUTSIDE STATE CANDIDATE

Outside State candidates are not eligible for admission in Govt. Colleges but they are eligible for admission to Privates Colleges except private Medical Colleges in MBBS courses.

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME : 2008-09

Scholarship for Women National Champions

The Sports Scholarship Scheme has been put on hold by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports pending its revision. The Government has, however, decided to implement the women component of the scheme during the year 2008-09. The details of scholarships to be awarded are as under:-

a) 50 scholarships worth Rs.18,000/- each per annum to unemployed women above 19 years of age securing first/second or third position in individual events only in the senior national champions organized by the recognized national federation.

b) 10 scholarships of Rs.10,000/- each per annum to women having Master’s Degree in Physical Education and doing M.Phil/Ph.D in Physical Education, fromn any recognized physical education college/university in India.

c) 20 scholarships of Rs.7500/- per course to women having Master’s Degree in Physical Education and doing Diploma in Sports Coaching from any one of the Academic centres of the SAI.

The above scholarships are subject to the applicants’ fulfilling the eligibility conditions and attaining qualifying standards laid down under the scheme. The sports achievements between the period from 1-1-2007 to 31-12-2007 only will be taken into the consideration for the award of scholarships for the year 2008-09. The scholarships will be sanctioned for a period of one year. The Sports disciplines covered for scholarships mentioned at (a) above are as under:-

PRIORITY DISCIPLINES: (14) Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Cycling, Gymnastics, Judo, Lawn Tennis, Rowing, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Weightlifting and Wrestling.

OTHER DISCIPLINES: (14) Billiards & Snooker, Bowling, Carrom, Chess, Equestrian, Fencing, Golf, Kayaking and Canoeing, Karate, Powerlifting, Squash, Taekwondo, Wushu & Yachting.

The eligible candidates may write to the ED(A), SAI, NS NIS, Patiala for the prescribed application form.

Admission Notice 2009


Entrance Examination For AIIMS- M.B.B.S Course August - 2009

Application are invited in the prescribed form for admission to MBBS course of AIIMS commencing on 1st August 2009. Entrance Examination will be held on 01.06.2009 (Monday). Application forms, complete in all respect, must reach AIIMS, New Delhi latest by 5.00 P.M on 27.02.2009

Eligibility: (1) Candidates who have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 system or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English securing a minimum of 60% marks (50% in case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Orthopedic Physically Handicapped candidates) in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English or whose results of Class XII are likely to be declared by 7th July, 2009 are eligible to apply

The candidate should have attend the age of 17 (seventeen) years as on 31st December 2009

The Prospectus - cum - Application Form costing Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 800/- in case of SC/ST candidates) inclusive of examination fee can be obtained in the following manner.

By Post: The Prospectus - cum - Application Form van also be obtained by speed Post/Registered Post by sending a written request with an account payee Bank Draft for Rs. 1050/- Rs. (850/- for SC/ST candidates) in favour of "M.B.B.S. Entrance Examination 2009" payable at New Delhi. The Bank Draft should be valid up to July/August 2009. The request must reach the Assistant Controller of Examination, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi - 110 608 on or before 21.02.2009/ Money Order/Cheque/Postal Order/Cash or any other form of payment will NOT be accepted for postal sale. The words "REQUEST FOR APPLICATION FORM FOR M.B.B.S ENTRANCE EXAMINATION 2009" should be written on the envelope containing request for application form, and also on top of the request letter. The address at which Application Form is required should be written Clearly in CAPITAL LETTERS and with PIN Code. AIIMS will not be responsible for delay in / non receipt of Application Form caused by illegible or incomplete address.

Last date for receipt of completed application in Examination Section, AIIMS: 27.02.2009 by 5.00 p.m.
