The M.Sc (Informatics) programme focuses on convergence of computer & telecommunication. IIC graduates have been well placed in leading IT Industry.

Admission Criterion: Objective type written test followed by interview and group discussion.

Eligibility: Appeared/Passed in any of the following degrees or equivalent qualification from a recognized university / institution with at least 50% (45% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate.

(1) Bachelor.....Degree under 10+2+3 scheme

(B.Sc/B.Sc(H)/B.Appl.SC.) in Physical Science/Chemical Science/Electronic Sciences/Mathematical Science / Computer Science / any combination of subjects with at last two from these disciplines.

(2) B.E / B.Tech Degree in any discipline.

How To Apply: Information Bulletin and Application form an be obtained between 10.00 am to 4.00 pm from IIC, UDSC, New Delhi - 110021 only against a demand draft of Rs. 600/- (for general category) and Rs. 350/- (for reserve category) in favour of Director, UDSC payable at the SBI, New Delhi (Code No. 7687), Add Rs. 50/- extra in case of Postal requisition. Application Form can also be downloaded from website: www.iic.ac.in and can be sent along with the demand draft of prescribed fee.

MD / MS & PG Diploma Courses (April 2009 Session)

Applications are invited from Resident Indian Nationals with MBBS Degree (recognised by Medical Council of India), who have completed or due to complete Internship (Rotatory Houseman ship) training by 31-3-2009, Names of the courses, reservation of seats for various categories, method of entrance examination, process of counseling using roster point reservation are detailed in JIPMER webiste: www.jipmer.edu.in

Prospectus and Application Forms (A&B) can be obtained on cash payment of Rs. 1000/- (for Unreserved UR/Institute INST/Other Backward Classes OBC) and Rs. 800/- (SC/ST) from only The State Bank of India, JIPMER campus branch from 01.12.2008 to 06.01.2009. The bank timings when the applications will be available are 10.00 am to 4.00 p.m on all working days (Monday to Friday) and from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon on Saturdays. Application forms can also be had from Professor (Academic), JIPMER, Puducherry - 605 006 upto 30th December 2008 through postal requests, accompanied by M.I.C.R Bank Draft of Rs. 1000/- (UR/INST/OBC) and Rs. 800/- (SC/ST) drawn in favour of "Accounts Officer, JIPMER" payable at any Nationalized Bank in Puducherry, Union Territory. Two 13cm width * 7cm height self addressed labels must accompany the postal request for correct delivery of the Application Forms.

JIPMER MD/MS/PG/Diploma 2009 Applications can be submitted an ON-LINE process (Internet based) by accessing the Website: www.jipmer.edu.in from 01-12-2008 to 31-12-2008. The candidates should first pay the non - refundable application fee of Rs. 1000/- (UR/INST/OBC) and Rs. 800/- (SC/ST) by obtaining a demand draft as mentioned above. The draft details are required while filling up on-line form. Candidates are required to take a pint out of the on-line application form with the number after successful submission of data. The printed Form with the candidate's signature, left thumb print, photograph and the Demand Draft must be sent by Speed Post so as to reach the Professor (Academic), JIPMER Puducherry - 605 006 by 06th January 2009 - 4.00 pm. Attested copies of OBC Non creamy layer certificate / SC / ST candidates / Medical certificate in support of Orthopedic disability must be enclosed with the application form wherever applicable. Failure to enclose these certificates will render the completed applications (both Offline and On-line) ineligible for entrance examination. Service candidates are required to enclose a No Objection Certificate from their Head of Office along with the completed application forms.

Please Note: Online application will be issued Half-Ticket for Entrance Examination only after the postal receipt of the completed form, Bank Draft and necessary enclosures by the offices Professor (Academic), JIPMER.

Unsigned / Incompletely filled in applications / Applications received after 6th January 2009 will be rejected and drafts enclosed will not be refunded. No further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

Admission To 5 Year Integrated Masters (M.S.) Programme

Education and research in science are the foundation of knowledge supremacy, economic prosperity and good health. Taking advantage the latest technological innovations to ushar in an era of advanced scientific learning in the country is the primary goal of Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs). Five IISERs have been established by the Government of Indian at Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, pune and Thiruvananthapuram. This is a unique initiative in science education in India where teaching and education are totally integrated with state–of-the-art research nurturing both curiosity and creativity in an intellectually vibrant atmosphere of research. The IISERs aim to become science institutes of the highest international caliber. Each IISERs is an autonomous institution conducting its own Masters and Doctoral programmes. Students are encouraged to work on research projects during the vacation periods in the first four years of their Masters programme in various research institutes outside IISER.

IISER have 5 – year integrated MS (after 10+2) in the Sciences (BCMP) with interdisciplinary course and emphasise on research. There are vibrant Doctoral and Postdoctoral research programs in a variety of modern areas, with faculty of international repute. All the selected students will be provided INSPIRE SCHOLARSHIP by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.

Admission to 5 year MS program is through competitive examinations such as KVPY, IIT-JEE and from 2010 onward through IISER’s own national entrance examination.
