Job Description -

* To organise collection of data from the housing/ housing finance sector and other agencies,
* To manage collected data, undertake analysis and research,
* To help in timely display, dissemination and publication of NHB Residex Index,
* To build statistical information/data warehouse of NHB on property prices and other topics, as may be decided by Bank,
* To provide ongoing feedback on best practices in Data collection, management and publication in comparable organizations,
* Liaise with Govt. of India, RBI, other banks/FIs, educational/ professional/corporate institutions etc in connection with statistical/economic activities,
* Any other assigned duties, from time to time.

Competencies -

* Good domain knowledge in Statistics/Data management, Should be thorough in Govt/Public Sector practices in the related field,
* Should be familiar with emerging trends in data collection, management and analysis,
* Possess good organizing and management capabilities,
* Pleasant disposition and good inter personal skills,
* Have good bearing and presence and be able to interact effectively with senior functionaries within and outside Bank,

Qualification - Graduate in Statistics or Mathematics with minimum 50% marks or equivalent from a recognized institute/university. Post-Graduation/ M. Phil in relevant fields would be an additional qualification.

Experience -

Post-qualification experience of about 15 years in Government/ University/ Research Institute/ Private/Public Sector Institution/ bank/financial institution of repute out of which about 7 years experience in areas related to Quantitative research work, Management of data collection, analysis, projections, data mining, display and dissemination. Experience with collection of data related to housing/housing finance sector and/or compilations on price indices would be highly preferred.

Age - Should not exceed 62 years as on 01/10/2008, Relaxable in exceptional cases, subject to good fitness.

Remuneration - Consolidated Monthly Gross Emoluments of Rs. 30,000/-. (For candidates found exceptionally suitable, higher emoluments may be considered).

Job Description - The Officer will be responsible for

General up-keep of the office/residential premises and maintenance of building and services for Bank’s own/leased premises,

Maintenance/repairs/renovations of Bank’s own/leased premises,

Preparation and processing of estimates and tender documents for all maintenance, repairs and other construction activities connected with NHB estates,

Planning of maintenance services of Bank’s own/leased movable and immovable assets including invitation of tenders, flotation of quotations, hiring of contractors, and settlement of bills relating to the premises,

Materials planning, procurement and management relating to proper maintenance,

Liaise with Govt. of India, Reserve Bank of India and Local Government Authorities like DDA, MCD, BSES, Jal Board etc. in connection with infrastructure facilities and other matters,

Competencies -

JOIN THE INDIAN NAVY - A GLOBAL EXPERIENCE

Applications are invited from unmarried male candidates to join the Indian Navy in the 10 + 2 cadet technical entry for Jul 2009 Course at Naval Academy (NAVAC) Ezhimala, Kerala

1. Applications are invited from unmarried Men and Women candidates for Short Service Commission (Observer Officer) in the Aviation Cadre of Executive Branch of the Indian Navy for Course commencing July 2009 at Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala. Candidates to fulfill condition of nationality as laid down by the Government of India.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

2. Age. 19 to 23 years, born between 02 July 1986 and 01 July 1990; both dates inclusive.

3. Educational Qualifications. A candidate must be a graduate in any disciplne with an aggregate of 55% marks. The candidate must have passed 10 + 2 with Physics and Mathematics as main subjects.

4. Physical Standards

(a) Height and Weight. Minimum height-162.5 cms with correlated weight, leg length, sitting height and thigh length for both Men and Women candidates.
(b) Eye Sight. The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6, 6/6. Should not be colour/night blind.

SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION

5. Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to service requirement, performance & willingness of the candidate. On completion of these tenures, officers are entitled for gratuity under the extant rules. Disciplined life, leadership qualities and professional skills imbibed during the service would stand as added advantages in acquiring second career post exit from the Navy.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

7. (a) Candidates will be issued call up for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews based on their performance in educational qualification. If a candidate possesses higher qualification with better percentage, his higher qualification will be considered for cut off. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) (IHQ-MoD (Navy)) reserves the right to short-list applications and to fix cut off percentage without assigning any reason. No communication will be entertained on this account

(b) SSB interviews for short-listed candidates will be scheduled during Feb to Apr 09 at Bangalore.

(c) “The SSB interview is conducted over five days in two stages. Stage-I includes inteligence Test, Picture Perception test and Group discussion and is conducted on the first day. Stage-II includes Psychological Tests, Group Task and personal interview conducted over the balance four days. Candidates failing to qualify a particular stage would be sent back the same day. Successful candidates would then have to clear a Aviation medical examination at the same venue (approx duration 3-5 days)”.

(d) Candidates recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit will be appointed for training in order of all India Merit depending on the number of vacancies and subject to police verification.

(e) Change of SSB centre for interview is not permissible under any circumstances.

Call for Papers at the National Conference on Statistical Inference and Inferential Aspects of Industrial Statistics ( December 16-18, 2008).

Department of Statistics and Center for Advanced Studies in Statistics, University of Pune is organizing a conference at University of Pune during December 16-18, 2008. The focal theme of the conference is ‘Statistical Inference and Inferential Aspects of Industrial Statistics’. Invited speakers will give talks in the conference. There are some sessions for contributory papers.
Title and abstract of the paper may be submitted through e-mail attachment in MS-Word or in PDF format to the following e-mail Id: conference08@stats.unipune.ernet.in on or before October 10, 2008.

The selected candidates will be informed by October 31, 2008. The selected candidates should send the hard copies of the duly filled registration form and the abstract of their talk along with the DD. against the registration fees in favour of ‘Registrar, University of Pune’, payable at Pune to the Convener, Conference 2008, Department of Statistics, University of Pune, Pune 411007, payable at Pune, by regular mail. The hard copies along with DD. should reach to the Department on or before Nov. 15, 2008.

The Registration fee is Rs 1000 if accommodation is required. This will cover the Boarding / Lodging and the local hospitality on the University campus and the conference material.

The Registration fee is Rs 500 if the accommodation is not required This will cover the tea/coffee, lunches, conference diner and the conference material.

Last date for registration: 30 Oct. 2008
