Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU) has been established by an Act(No.25 0f 2004) of Legislature passed by the Chhattisgarh State Govt. Assembly, wide notification No.639/21-A/Prarupan/2004 date 21st Jan 2005 and published in the State Govt. gazette 24th January, 2005. The University incorporates the purpose of ensuring systematic, efficient and qualitative education in engineering and technological subjects including Architecture and Pharmacy at Research, Postgraduate, Degree and Diploma level. The foundation stone of the University was laid down by Hon'ble Dr. Manmohan Sigh, the Prime Minister, Govt. of India on April 30th 2005.

The establishment of the erstwhile University of Cochin in 1971 was a commitment from the Government of Kerala towards the new scientific policy resolution adopted by the Central Government on 4th March 1958. The Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University Kanpur, has been on the map of higher education for more than three decades. Eligibility and Application:

Fisheries development professionals, teachers and researchers. Preferably graduates with field experience. Candidates for the training course must be sponsored by the home countries, sponsoring organization or self. Application form with detailed biodata, passport number etc. should be sent to the Director, Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Versova, Mumbai-400061, India (Email: director@cife.edu.in). Training fees is US $ 2000 for foreign nationals and Indian Rs.20,000 for Indian nationals. On campus food and stay will be about US $ 20 per person per day, and will be provided on request. The fees for each training programme should be made in the form of Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of ICAR UNIT, CIFE, Mumbai, payable at Mumbai, India.

The Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (CIHTS) was envisioned by Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru in consultation with His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama with a view to educate the youths of Tibet and the Himalayan border region.

Established in 1967, CIHTS initially functioned as a special constituent wing of Sampurnananda Sanskrit University, Varanasi. Thereafter the government of India reviewed the progress of the Institute and decided to accord it a status of an autonomous body under the Department of Culture, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India in 1977 with 100% financial support from the Govt. of India. The Institute steadily progressed with optimal success. The Govt. of India declared the Institute to be a "Deemed to be a University" on 5th April, 1988. Until 2000, the Institute was headed by Ven. Samdhong Rinpoche, the now Prime Minister of the Tibetan Government in Exile. The Institute is currently headed by Geshe Ngawang Samten as Director and is ably assisted by learned faculty members of the Institute in achieving its goal of excellence in the field of Tibetology, Buddhology and Himalayan Studies.

The English and Foreign Languages University grew out of the Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages (CIEFL), which was a deemed university created by the Central Government to improve the standards of the teaching of English and foreign languages in the country.

The Central Institute of English was the brainchild of the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. CIE, as it was called then, was set up in 1958 in Hyderabad to train teachers of English. In April 1972, the Institute broadened its scope to include the major foreign languages, and was renamed the Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages. CIE became CIEFL, and in July 1973 in recognition of its high standards of excellence, the University Grants Commission accorded the Institute the status of a deemed university.
