Admit Cards of the eligible candidates of O-CET-2008 have been dispatched

It is for the information of all concerned candidates that the Admit Cards of the eligible candidates who are to appear in O-CET-2008, to be conducted by the Panjab University, Chandigarh w.e.f. 1st June to 3rd June 2008, have been dispatched by Registered Post. Those who do not receive the Admit Cards by 29.05.2008, they may get the duplicate Admit Cards from the University Office (CET Cell, Aruna Ranjit Chandra Hall, near Post Office) on 30th and 31st May 2008 after completing pre-requisite requirements as detailed in Para 37 at Page 20 of the O-CET Prospectus-2008 according to the Advisor Examinations, P.U.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY (OPEN HOUSE 26th May to 7th June, 2008)

Coming June 5 is World Environment Day. Instead of having just a day of Earth & Environment activities, the Geology Department Panjab University invites the citizens of the city and adjoining areas to visit its Museum of Natural History from 26th May (Monday) to 7th June (Saturday) barring Sunday when PU are closed.

Within changed working hours, 8 am to 2 pm the museum would to open to all. It is the biggest and best in NW India and built with the efforts of generations of geologists over last 50 years, has rare collections of minerals, rocks, fossils from all over the country and several parts of the world. The recent discoveries of Dinosaurian fossil eggs and bones housed in the museum would especially attract the young school kids having their summer vacations.

From 8.30 am to 11.30 am everyday there would also be free screening of Earth, Environment, Wild Life Films in the Seminar Room of the Department for our guests. The films include productions supported bv British Council. BBC Film on Dinosaurs Dynasty and US Geologists' Research in Hawaii Volcanoes and German TV Film on Ladakh.

Panjab University want to specially invite the children and families of PU staff who have in routine missed out the excitement available in plenty in our wonderful premises. .

Panjab University appeal to citizens to come walking or cycling with earth and environment friendly posters in hand and dressed up in green or with T-Shirts painted to inspire environmental education and conservation.
